Great Stay
I visited this little gem last summer and I if you looking for a place where to relax, away from the city with all the services, this is the place where to go. Large room great countryside view, good WiFi, nice pool, good breakfast and welcoming staff. On top of that very very well maintained and good value for money. Recommended.
Beautiful structure wonderful staff and the view!
I could not say anything bad about this place! All wonderful from the location to the staff ! Location is beautiful well curated, clean and with a breathtaking view over the valley. Staff was really friendly responsive and professional from Fabrizio to Sara to the cleaning ladies. Loved the breakfast and the homemade cakes! We will be back for sure. The place is pure relaxation and bliss. It is a high end agriturismo with lovely grounds fruit trees olives trees roses flowers ... Fabrizio helped us in any possible way, carrying the luggages, giving us tips and so on. Sarah was so kind always asking how we were doing and cooking us eggs right away! The rooms are typical in style and size, rustic but with a nice touch, they have a safe so you can leave valuables in the safe and if they do not fit leave your stuff with the management. About the gravel road: yes there is a gravel road of about 3km and at night there is no light because you are staying in the countryside of Tuscany so this is normal for a lot of places. The place has a restaurant so at night if you don’t feel safe you can dine in , the food is very good and fresh. During the day no problem just drive slow . From the area you can do nice walks . The location is wonderful .
Run away and avoid absolutly this place
My wife and I stayed at the Borgo Sant Ambrogio for 3 nights in July 2019. My wife's 570 eur Prada wallet was stollen (which was in her bag in the room and did not leave the room). Our 3 credit cards, our 600 over euros of cash, driving license, ID etc... were all stollen inside our room. Obviously the entire bag could not go / fit the safe. We raised this matter to the on-site managers which did not take any action. No gesture, no assistance were given. He was not even surprised of shocked to hear our wallet and cash were stollen. When back we reached out to the owner/manager. He has not been of any assistance and instead of trying to find a way to compensate the loss, he re directed us to his lawer. Such lack of professionalism is just unacceptable. Do not take the risk to stay at this place. There are hundreds of wondeful venues in Tuscany. Besides the pool site and view which are nice, the rooms are very disappointing. We travel extensively and we never faced such situation and a robbery at a hotel.
The best of Tuscany
Loved Borgo Sant’Ambrogio. Beautiful location with amazing views. Tastefully decorated rooms. The whole family enjoyed our stay here. Coming back again next year. Stayed in the junior suite Corregiolo which was ample for 4.
Warm welcome in Tuscany
We spent 5 days in early July at the Borge Sant'Ambrogio. It was an ideal base of operation for visiting southern Tuscany. The Borgo property - historical buildings and new, landscaping, gardens, pool - were lovely. We had a standard room that was simply furnished, clean and well maintained. It was in the mid-90's F during our stay and the AC was taxed to keep us comfortable; however, the hotel supplied a fan, which helped considerably. There was a bountiful breakfast in the morning, skillfully and very thoughtfully attended by Sarah. We had dinner at the Borgo on three evenings. We appreciated that the dishes featured local ingredients, were beautifully presented and delicious. Our compliments to the server, Deborah and chef, Alberto! Further, the front desk staff, Patrick and Fabrizio, could not be more responsive and accommodating. The professional and welcoming style of the staff created a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. Indeed it was "quiet luxury" in the Tuscan countryside.
