More about the hotel
A place you DO NOT want to rent from .
The air conditioner did not work and I was not informed of it . ( because obviously the owners are slum lords ) The ice machine didn't work , either . The bed was wrinkled and sloppily made . AWFUL !!!
Overpriced for the condition of the room.
After driving for over 17 hours,I was looking for a pet friendly hotel and for some sleep. My son found 99 Palms was pet friendly, so I stopped to see about a room at around 11:00 p.m. After standing at the check in window for what seemed to be eternity a woman arrived and asked what I needed. I told the woman that I needed a ground floor room for three adults and a 7lb. chihuahua. She said that she had no ground floor rooms but had upper level rooms. I said that would not work, as my wife is handicapped and can not walk. She then said wait a minute and left. Later she returned with a piece of paper with charges on it, and said she did have a room on the ground floor. The charges were $80.00 for the room, $40.00 for the pet and a $50.00 deposit that would be refunded at check out if the room was okay. I was so tired that we stayed. After arriving in the room "we were very disappointed". The floor was dirty and dusty, the furniture was the same,my son turned on the T.V. and there was only one channel. My wife attempted to use the restroom and the toilet seat was ready to fall off, it was very loose. My wife being not able to walk, has enough trouble with a toilet that is in a-1 condition. Attempting to use the water faucet in the bathroom was useless as it only dribbled at full open. It also appeared that the sheets had not been changed. These concerns and issues were brought up to the desk clerk, when I checked out. The clerk nor any of the other employees in the office at that time appeared to not be concerned. The clerk went and checked the room for damage, returning and saying that the $50.00 deposit would be refunded, with no other comments. I feel that $0 would have been appropriate for this room, and that $40.00 for a very small pet is not a pet friendly hotel. Karl Keen
Nice place to stay
Had to come down to Tulare for business. Got a great rate from Booking.com for two nights. I arrived late and called the number provided. The lady who runs the place was real nice. she let me in and got me checked into my room right away. the room was amply sized and clean. I had hot water for my showers and the bed was comfortable. Only bummer was that the pool was closed for the season, which I was looking forward to after working outside in the hot sun. All in all this place met my expectations. If I happen down this way again, I will 99 Palms Inn and Suites.
Great room! - very sweet woman running the hotel
This hotel was fantastic! The woman at the front was very sweet to us even after Hotels.com screwed up our check in and wouldn't let us check in. Something to do with hotels.com not giving her the money I paid months ago. It seems she would only be given $84 of the $130 I was charged which seems absolutely outrageous. Makes me think I should use hotels.com only as a way to search for properties, then contact the hotel directly. This woman's life is this hotel but hotels.com takes 35%???? That's pretty insane. That being said, the hotel was fantastic. It was a great pit stop for us on our road trip and the room was exactly as described. Thanks again, I'll be staying here next time I book a trip!
Unfriendly and Rude!!!
My wife and I were traveling home from a long weekend. The weather was bad and we were getting tired so we booked a room online ahead of time. When we arrived it was a little before 11:20 pm. The two signs in the window showed the lobby hours were open until 2:30 am but the door was locked. We rang the bell for night service and waited a couple of minutes with no reply. We then called the phone number posted on a paper taped to the inside of the door. After several attempts a man appeared from the back. He looked disheveled with his hair a mess, wearing pajamas, and a scarf wrapped around his neck. After unlocking the door and letting us in he started complaining about how he shouldn’t have to allow people in after midnight. That’s when my wife told him it’s not midnight yet..... it’s 11:20. He then became very aggressive and started shouting he is in charge and he doesn’t have to let us stay. He asked for my wife’s ID then continued his tirade demanding my ID and registration for our vehicle. He approached me still ranting and raving so I grabbed my wife’s ID from his hand and told him that we’ll not be staying there. Then he really became aggressive as I escorted my wife out he was yelling obscenities at us. I decided to drive all the way home which was another 3 1/2 hours so we made it home safely at 3 am. Thanks to that guy we saved about $100. FAIR WARNING TO ANYONE WANTING TO STAY HERE.......... DON’T!!!!
