Todo lindo
Everything was nice and clean! Our stay has been a great vacation, our room was cozy and from our terrace we saw lots of birds and animals, and also the beautiful nature! Me gustaría muchísimo decir gracias a todo lo staff que nos preparó el desayuno todas las mañanas, porque la comida estaba cocinada solo por nosotros, y un tío muy amable nos describió el café como uno de los mejores de la zona de las Chispas! Per tutti gli italiani, se chiedete vi fanno persino il caffè con la moka!
Perfect place with good price ;)
We enjoyed really that place, is nice clean and with friendly staff. Is noise outside till 3.00 am max but that place has best location... local iguana is nice pet 😍 i really recomend that to everybody !!
Great decor but noisy!
Stayed at Casa Ambar a culpe of nights. The decor is truly nice and the place has character to it. It is very clean and the staff friendly specially Lis who really helped us to figure out an early transportation to playa del Carmen for our dive trip to Cozumel. What really bothered us is how noisy it was during the night with the other guests in the common area talking late at night the sound really eccoed so we were woken up several times at night by talking guests, we even had to shooosh them. Anyone going up the wooden stairs makes loud stepping noises. So we had a hard time sleeping but otherwise the hotel is ok.
Beautiful, but not perfect
My husband and I were drawn in by the beautiful design and the promise of a peaceful, relaxing experience at Casa Ambar. Through no fault of their own, our vacation was not a restful one. Olga and the rest of the staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean, and the decor very beautiful. Expectations fully met in that regard. The hotel is not on the beach, but we could use of the sister hotel's beach 20 minutes walk up the road. The hotel advertises bicycles for guest use, but we were told that a prior guest never returned them so we ended up renting from a stall up the road. Bottled water was available, along with a light breakfast of granola and yogurt. What the beautiful photos and polished Instagram page do NOT mention is that this hotel is situated mere yards from a night club. The thumping bass continued past 3:00 am every night. Every. Single. Night. When we inquired about the noise, we were told that the parties usually wrap around 1:00am, per city ordinance. This was not the case. Earplugs were useless. We ran white noise recordings on our cell phones all night trying to drown out the bass. I do not blame Casa Ambar for our experience, but I do wish that I had known about this before booking our stay.
Treehouse Adventures
Casa Ámbar exceeded our expectations! The place is a beautiful cozy treehouse in the coolest area of town. We arrived very late on a Wednesday night and were taken to our room and given the tour of the communal areas we would be sharing with others. There were 2 kitchens (indoor and outdoor) and a giant living room area with a dining table. Upstairs there was a beautiful patio with hammocks and books everywhere (in case you forget to bring your own)! We woke up every morning to the very friendly faces of the hotel staff as they prepared breakfast for us. We would eat breakfast with others who stayed here and made some great friends from all over the globe! We would leave most of the day and return at night and also hang out with our new friends. There are plenty of options for eating here so just walk outside and look around. Lots of fun bars. Overall our room was beautiful and had a lovely patio. Our bed was comfortable but remember to keep your patio doors closed to prevent mosquitoes from coming in your room ;)
