More about the hotel
We loved our 3 day stay at Casa Caponetti. Such a great place!
We had a wonderful time at Casa Caponetti. We were able to walk the grounds and see the horses, cows, pigs, and have access to the main guest house for eating and visiting. Such a beautiful and relaxing place with clean and modern guest rooms. Lorenzo is such a gracious host and made us feel at home. Looking forward to our next trip to visit Casa Caponetti!
Perfect Respite Between Cities
This trip brought us to Rome and Florence, and Casa Caponetti is the perfect spot in between the two to take a break from the craziness of city life. Lorenzo is a great host - friendly, informative and accommodating. He speaks fluent English. Rooms are ample size, modern and clean. There's also a large living room and many books to browse. Lorenzo opened his kitchen/dining room on a night they would normally be closed to make dinner for the 4 of us who were his guests, plus my two cousins who live in the central city part of Tuscania. The chef brought us into the kitchen to watch a bit of the food prep and describe the dishes he would be serving. A delicious multi-course meal made with the farm's own olive oil and vegetables grown right outside the door. Plus the house wine - all for a very reasonable price. In the morning we were delighted to find several adorable puppies sniffing at our door looking to play! There are horses grazing nearby too, and a huge area to wander around and take in the view. A blanket of serenity enveloped me as I meandered the farm, and I caught a photo of Lorenzo's beautiful little girl picking flowers out in back. Etruscan ruins are everywhere, and a nearby church allows you to visit their tombs in the cellar. After the hustle and bustle of Florence and before the magnificent insanity of Rome, this was the best place to hang out for a couple of days. Casa Caponetti is definitely in my future!
Lovely people, lovely country
I thoroughly enjoyed a relaxing stay at Casa Caponetti. Everyone was very welcoming. The country is beautiful as are the accommodations. Comfortable and lovely without being pretentious. A working farm with good intentions for quality products and land management. My dinners were the best in Italy. Fresh and delicious. I look forward to another visit.
A perfect getaway 1.5 hours from Rome
We were thrilled to spend 4 days at Casa Caponetti. Olive harvest and production had just concluded, so Loranzo Caponetti was hard at work in the US selling their amazing olive oil 9we bought a case), but Federico took excellent care of us. During busier times of the year, they have cooking and other classes. It was quiet early December, but the day we left, Casa Caponetti filled up to the gills with families from Rome celebrating the Advent holiday. Almost all of the food comes from the farm, a 125-acre masterpiece about 10 minutes from Tuscania. Our breakfasts were homemade breads and jams with perfectly brewed coffee. Federico sent us on our way to three amazing meals, including Dicie Sedie in Tuscania and Angiolina in Pitigliano, which I'll review later. But, we also enjoyed 3 delightful, local dinners at Casa Caponetti. There are all kinds of farm animals, and there's a nice walk to the Etruscan tombs on the property. Four lovely rooms are well appointed, very clean, with modern bathroom fixtures. No wifi in the rooms, but the living room has free wifi available. I personally think this makes for an even more relaxing stay when you get away from the technology hassle and bustle for a while. I couldn't recommend Casa Caponetti higher.
Excellent choice, only 1h30 away from Roma
Great views, great staff, great food, what else. Maybe a swimming pool... But that is the very only downside. Beautiful beaches are only 45 min away. Highly recommended. Try their homemade focaccia for lunch!
