Shouldn't Work But Somehow Does
This is one of the more incongruous places we've ever stayed at but it does kind of work. It is a mile or two outside of the main drag in a rather curious area with ageing and not particularly attractive blocks of flats rubbing shoulders with what looks like a very new hospital and fairly new university main campus. Slapped right in the middle and down what you can tell would have been a quiet country lane just a few decades ago, is this ultra modern hotel. It therefore looks somewhat out of place despite the nearby presence of the hospital and uni. Inside, it's wearing well but does look like the sort of place that could age very quickly. That said, for now, the rooms are nice and a good size ( we did get a free upgrade so the standard rooms might not be). The public areas are also generally attractive (although the day after what we assumed was a kids birthday party, the public loos remained disturbingly unattended to). Breakfast was a very good effort under the circumstances although it probably could have done with a couple of extra staff on to help with the serving. Our favourite thing though was the restaurant just a short walk down the road. It looks like the only one for miles but we ate there the two nights we stayed - and it really is all you'd need: nice food, well priced and a very homely atmosphere. A car isnt an absolute necessity for staying here as the bus service is excellent and gets you into town within about 15 minutes and then about another 15 for the Leaning Tower, etc. On balance though, I would recommend one, especially if staying for more than one night and wanting to see further afield: parking is plentiful and free so why not? That said, quite where you would park for Pisa I don't know!
Modern and calm Hotel
We’ve spent one night at this hotel during our road trip through north Italy. The Hotel is very modern, in a calm location and with enough parking opportunities. The receptionists were all kind and helpful. The room itself is decorated very modern and made a solidly clean impression on us. Only the general finishings of the furniture aren’t the highest quality. The backyard, the lounge and the breakfast organization were very nice.
Lovely hotel
A very lovely hotel. Clean, close to the airport and the Tower ( about 15 min) cab. We spent 2 nights, with 2 children. The first night was a little noisy .The second night was much quieter but note that the walls are very thin. We had a family room which was two interconnecting rooms. There was a fridge but the safe did not appear to work. We took a cab to the Tower and a cab back (taxi rank just outside the tower). The resturant was closed for lunch/ dinner so we had to go 3 min down the road to a lovely establishment. There wasn't much to do in the evenings but it worked fine for us. We enjoyed our stay. The hotel even mailed us (for a fee) the items we forgot. Staff are amazing and the breakfast got 5 stars from me!
Tuscany Holiday 2019
I 100% recommend this hotel, excellent service with excellent location and very friendly staff. For sure if I have to go again to Pisa I will choose SanRanieri Hotel again. All the staff made our holiday so relaxed with their excellent service. Thanks to all of you guys.
Very good hotel
The hotel is very nice and the staff is very friendly. We enjoyed our dinner at the hotel restaurant. There is a large choice of meals and everything was delicious. The bed was a bit hard, so this may be an improvement in the future, but nevertheless I had a great stay.
