Great people, Great stay
Check in was fast, room was clean and comfortable. we were on a higher floor which was quiet. bathroom was spacious and clean. Location is great. The hotel is closely located to restaurants. easy access to the Interstate. we had family come to the hotel and there was plenty of room to visit during our stay. we will definatly stay again
DO NOT STAY HERE!!!
Gave us the wrong room, took forever to fix it. There is no AC in the elevators, hallways or bathrooms. Very dirty. We had no remote for our tv. No breakfast the next morning. Were pretty sure the guy that was sitting by the back door all night was selling drugs. very disappointed.
2nd visit, still lacks organization
My husband and I have stayed at both HIE locations in Tyler, TX. One gave us a room that reeked of cigarettes (north), this location (south) was very clean and had a pretty comfortable bed, but the bathroom and In room coffee station was sparsely stocked. There was no bar soap, only 3 towels (2 bath, one wash cloth), one disposable cup and two k-cups. When brought to the desk person’s attention (nicely), there was no apology just a “we’re out of bar soap, you can use the dispenser in the shower. Here, I can give you some cups.” Then, we ran out of the dispenser soap attached to the wall of the shower. Apparently, it had not been filled. The FIRST visit here we had no hair dryer and no shampoo. Again, the desk person was not rude, but did not apologize and did not act as if she cared. She did give us a dryer she wasn’t sure worked and a shampoo bottle. The “breakfast” consisted of little packaged muffin/bagel /tiny soggy egg “tart” items, coffee with few cream containers provided, and no cinnamon rolls. Regardless of whether there is a virus going around, if you are going to be open, you need to provide better service and a professional desk experience. We generally stay at HIE when we travel and participate in the reward program, but as much as we love the Tyler area we will not stay in either location again.
Good location for getting around Tyler.
I stay here when I travel for business. The staff is friendly. The room are clean and quiety. The furnishings are comfortable. Plenty of parking. Good location for getting around Tyler (important for me for business). Lots of good restaurants nearby.
Nice Hotel but Staff & MGT. do NOT go out of their way
Had someone in Hospital a mile away stayed for 7 days. Checked in fine, went to extend by phone because I was paying for room from Florida my name was on reservation she would not give me any information and had to wait to next day to extend. Check Out went fine, they charged my card close to $700.00. I checked my bank they released the funds (They were paid). What they did was also authorize close to $700.00 . Now my bank account is out close to $1400.00. I contacted hotel they would NOT release the funds. said had to wait 7 to days days. Will never stay there again. I understand about the hold was a Mgr of a hotel BUT once paid we released any funds on Hold. Watch your accounts There !!!!!
