Lovely weekend break
We stayed at the Corbet Arms for the long May bank holiday and had a great time. Georgia and her team coped very well; with the sun shining it brought the crowds out and it was good to see a business doing so well. Only problem was the many stairs leading up to Room 9 - make sure you're fit if you get this room! Elaine, at breakfast was pretty busy but kept us all happy, well fed and content. Going back again in November for our anniversary and really looking forward to it. Linda & John Ross
Excellent accommodation and food
Enjoyed a lovely overnight stay in room 4. Dinner was fab. Sides of chips and onion rings were top notch. Excellent Covid precautions throughout hotel and pub. Give Shrewsbury town centre a miss though... hardly a mask in sight.
Lovely lunch
Just had a marvellous lunch here at the Corbet Arms. My partner had belly pork with mustard mash which she said was delicious whilst I myself had a 16oz gammon with perfectly cooked crispy chunky chips and two eggs instead of the pineapple it was offered with on the menu. Service was first class. The two waitresses who look the same are amazing !
Excellent
Enjoyed the family room with 3 adults. Includes a small kitchen. Very clean. Hotel rooms in a newer addition to an older building. Entire building recently remodeled. Had a great dinner the night we arrived. Check in at bar then they will show you to the room. Breakfast is back in the restaurant. Nice view from the restaurant.
Family
If you want to stay at this hotel be aware that rooms 7-11 are up two flights of stairs at the top of the building with no offer of help with luggage. The bar, although advertised to be open until 11 pm closed at 10.30 on Friday and 10.15 on Saturday. This is a newly refurbished hotel. Every room was spotless really clean and decorated to a high spec. The view of the river was nice, albeit through a small window that was too high with a window sill that was very deep. (I could only just reach the curtains). Unfortunately breakfast was only lukewarm. Having said all this, at £60 per night, it is a reasonable price, just bring a small bag, be early for the bar and ask for a hot breakfast!
