Nice Place shame about the caretaker
We stayed there over a long weekend, pool was great , unit was great, but to be told to be in bed by the caretaker at 8pm , well we won’t stay there again , we go to the bay every year we spent over $1000 on the accommodation alone , we will spend it elsewhere . If you don’t want people there don’t advertise, and only 4 satchels of single serve cereal is not a continental breakfast for 4 people over three nights
A great area to stay near the pier
We booked into Pier Resort for 3 nights. It’s a strange set up - we booked through Pier Resort but it’s in the Oaks Resort. The resort seemed like a lovely clean and quiet place to stay. We were given a pool view room on the ground floor. Because the pool was closed , it was quiet but I imagine during summer it would be very noisy on the ground level. We had very mixed feelings about our unit G1 ... expected a little bit more with cleanliness of the unit , but the size of the unit is great. There is a small kitchen ,aircond worked well, good size lounge , and a dining table with 2 chairs. The unit is in a great position near the pier , well furnished with a very comfortable king size bed. We were given some fresh milk and juice in the fridge which was a nice touch. Here are the things we were not happy about and why we wouldn’t stay at Pier 1 again....unless we previewed our assigned room before paying. The bathroom was a disabled room which was fine with us but it needed some attention to cleaning. The shower tiles was very mouldy, the disabled shower seat was full of mould in the stand and joints. If I needed to use that seat I would not sit on that seat without a bottle of bleach first. The toilet seat was loose and everytime you sat on it is moved to one side. Not very comfortable or safe. The kitchen was well stocked with plates, cups etc. but the dishwasher was out of order, there was no coffee machine as we were told we would get in the kitchen and the biggest disappointment was no free wifi.. We don’t expect luxuries in a hotel unit but we do expect it to be well maintained and clean. If you were looking to stay at the Resort maybe avoid unit G1 on the ground floor.
Poer one resort / Oaks resort
Pier one manage individually owned units in the Oaks resort and I had G1. Nice clean well equipped unit fronting the really nice pool via the front patio. Comfortable large bed, well equipped shower and spa fitted for disabled use. Large spacious lounge and kitchen. Breakfast supplies which was a nice touch as not expected. Super helpful check in at pier one. The Bayswater restauraunt for dinner and next door Salt for great breakfast out on the balcony.
beautiful, spacious, amazing views!
We booked this room last minute, and we were impressed! Walking distance to lots of activities, meals available in the restaurants and bars, food was great, good quality pub meals. Walking distance to many attractions. perfect place for a family vacation with pools for the little ones and the big kids. We will be back!
Spacious, clean and great ocean views
On our way from the airport we rang Pier One from the taxi looking for accommodation. It was early morning and they said yes come now! The apartment was very spacious and very clean. The bed and pillows were the best I have slept in for the last two weeks of our holiday. A short walk to the pier and a lovely longer walk along a path along the foreshore to some shops and cafes. The balcony was large and had wonderful views. We will definitely return.
