A truly unforgettable experience. More like a 7 star hotel!

Reviewed 1 march, 2022

I am struggling to find adjectives positive enough to describe this hotel. In one word, unforgettable. Ajwa is the standard to which I will compare all the hotels I visit next. Everything from design of the lobby, the rooms themselves, the uncompromising attention to detail, made me fall in love with this hotel. We stayed for two nights and enjoyed every second. The staff were fantastic, big thanks to Onur and the lovely staff at Zeferan restaurant (shoutout to Mehmet for his sherbeti!) This hotel offered the greatest Breakfast and restaurant I have ever tasted from a hotel, the food and service were outstanding. Pool and spa facilities were incredible. Staff really go the extra mile in making the stay enjoyable. If you're visiting Cappadocia, forget the underwhelming cave hotels, visit Ajwa instead and you will see how for yourself how beautiful this hotel is.

The Best Luxury Hotel in Cappadocia!

Reviewed 29 january, 2022

Wow! Ajwa Cappadocia is a magical place. We originally booked for 4 nights thinking this was enough time to see the sights of Cappadocia but we ended up staying an extra 3 nights because we wanted to spend more time in the hotel itself. And it is for these reasons: SNOW: We were so fortunate to visit in winter. Having been to Finland, Lapland just before our visit, I can honestly say the snowfall this winter at Cappadocia on the grounds of Ajwa was just spectacular with large, fluffy flakes. And this is partly why it feels so magical here. We had all our activities organised by the hotel, and we managed to see the snow from the balloon ride over mountains. The tour of the open museum was also booked with Ajwa and our guide, Ozay, was full of knowledge. We found out that some of the tours are easier in the colder months as it is not so hot and pleasant to walk around. THE ROOMS: We chose the Kervansaray Premium King Room. It was very spacious which is important to me as I usually have a lot of luggages. It also has windows that you can open to a lovely view, as I prefer fresh air due to my allergies. The bed is the most comfortable bed I ever slept on and the pillows fluff back up. There is an electronic wall panel to control aircon, floor heating, and the electronic block out curtains! Even the towel rail is heated. Towels are individually wrapped and clean, and the amenities stocked with Molton Brown items. Unlike other hotels that cut down on amenities, Ajwa is generous and I was so happy to see toothbrushes as these days luxury hotels don't even have them. There was no detail spared, and if you are one to notice, you will see that even the hand made tiles on the bathroom match the grout. But maybe that's just me. But it's something I appreciate. DESIGN: Incredible! The attention to detail is exceptional! All the furniture, lighting, rugs and decorations are exquisite. They are not just there to fill a room but to tell a story. They are art pieces collected from around the region and neighbouring countries, and put together to tell the story of Ajwa. You must look at the mosaic wall when you enter Zeferan, with hand-made coloured tiles created like floating balloons. There are many examples of this in every corner! You can ask any of the staff about any item and a beautiful story emerges about each piece you see. CLEANLINESS: For all the OCD clean freaks this is like a dream come true. The entire place is spotless. The housekeeping was superb, with bed sheets changed and clothing politely folded. The bathroom and shower is incredibly clean with no water marks left and all corners cleaned. When you walk back into your room, it feels fresh and deodorised with a clean scent. FOOD: The food at Zeferan is what kept me here longer. When a place has great food, there is no reason to leave elsewhere. We are usually the type who find a nice place and stick with it. It must be the first destination on your list. The breakfast included in the room booking is a must, as the Turkish breakfast is so beautiful with all condiments made in-house. In the evening, you can have a taste of the Azerbaijani foods, as well as Turkish, served at the table with a flourish, whether it's the pouring of the lentil soup from a handmade pottery, to the serving of warm bread on a wooden paddle. SERVICE: All the staff at Ajwa Cappadocia were hospitable and serve their customers with a friendly cultural touch. Onur at the front desk took us to see the grounds on a tour, which blew us away. On this visit we saw the incredible cave suites built to perfection, and the Ajwa black stallion. There was another gentleman at front desk who lent me his laptop for work. To be honest ALL the staff were amazing and I cannot remember all the names. There were some whom we met more often than others on our visit, such as Ugur from Zeferan who was a man who works from his heart, and Huseyin who explained the dishes and the art behind them so well. The service staff such as Bulent, Fatima & Mustapha, who decorated our table with the lovely breakfast plates. And Seren, for showing us how to make the capsicum and tomato dip. Overall, I mainly appreciate this hotel for the ENERGY it has: it is serene, relaxing and homely. Energy which emits from the history it carries in the preserved art pieces, to the culture it is sharing in the Azerbaijani and Turkish foods, and it's graceful ability at sharing Islamic elements with poise. One example of Islamic hospitality was when the front desk did not ask for a credit card when I arrived, the booking is made on trust. I found this extraordinary as some hotels make you feel like you will not pay for a bottle of water. And because of this gesture, I felt like I was a friend, not a stranger. These all reflect the heart and soul of the management and ownership behind Ajwa. It is a caring hotel, which is customer focused and humble. It is the best hotel I have stayed at. We will be back God willing with our family. Highly recommended.

Luxury relaxation stay

Reviewed 28 december, 2021

We stayed at Ajwa to relax - after busy few days exploring Goreme and doing all the sightseeing there. This place exceeded our expectations! Wow, the rooms, the hotel, and the grounds are gorgeous. They have traditional Turkish decorations and art all over the place as well. Everyone was friendly and have a "can do attitude", including Sahsenem, Ugur, and many others that we didn't know the names of. They always engaged with our daughter and cared that we were happy! There are many things to do for kids: indoor swimming pool, mini zoo, playground, aquarium, and mini farm. Our daughter was really happy here. She even started to like sauna. The restaurant Zeferan deserves a special mention as it is OUTSTANDING. Amazing breakfast (possibly the most extravagant we ever had) and we had such great dinners here. The Shah Pilaff and the Gurze are soo delicious. Again, excellent service as well!

What an outstanding experience

Reviewed 25 december, 2021

Our group of 8 friends stayed in this absolutely gorgeous resort a week ago and loved every bit of it. We arrived late at night and upon checking in, our rooms were immediately upgraded to the most spectacular rooms at the resort. Thanks to the reception staff. Additionally, loved the hospitality of the reception staff. Next morning, we were taken to the the Zeferan restaurant where custom made delicious breakfast was served. Liked each and every details of the restaurant. To be honest, living in US and comparing to our stays at Ritz Carlton which is considered one of the best resorts in US, our exuberant experience at this hotel was up to the par. We will definitely come back soon to enjoy more of this magnificent hotel and will strongly recommend our other family members and friends to stay at this hotel when visiting Cappadocia.
