Past its best

This hotel is well past its best. Yes, they have spacious rooms with views over the jungle and ruins in the distance but the hotel surroundings - roads, grounds etc were unkept and very tired. The pool was dirty - what should have been the highlight of the resort was a murky mess. The filter system clearly hasn’t worked in a while. We mentioned this to reception as we checked out and they appeared to be totally uninterested in our opinion.
Rate booked was not honored - rooms okay but not great

We booked this hotel by phone and were quoted a rate that was slightly higher than on booking.com but it was confirmed multiple times that the rate included breakfast. i even confirmed this in Spanish. At check-in, this was not honored and were only given the room for that rate. Even after challenging this, the person at check-in did not care at all and blamed it on the person on the phone. The room was okay but we had people staying above us that were really lound. I complained to the company by e-mail but after 5 days have not received any feedback.
Nice Jungle hotel Covid trip

We planned to stay here on our visit to the Puuc Region ruins. We arrived and found a very nice hotel in the middle of the jungle. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was closed wo we had to eat our meals in the room. We had a junior suite so the room was spacious and comfortable. The room was located on the top floor, near the center, overlooking the empty pool, ground and it had an excellent view of the ruins of Uxmal sticking up through the jungle, I don't believe any of the 3 other hotels thee have that kind of view. Late at night the AC stopped working and the excellent staff quickly set up the room next door and moved us. We only stayed 1 of the 2 nights booked due to all of the ruins being closed. If the pool had been available we most likely would have just relaxed in it the next day and stayed the other night. When we repeat the trip to see the ruins we will most likely stay here.
A bit worn down

This former Club Med resort left quite a bit to be desired. The room was big but relatively empty beyond the bed; the bathroom had no small towels - only bath towels, no bath mat, no glasses and no tissues. There was a balcony with a view of the pool and the ruins of Uzmal in the distance but the two chairs had seen better days - the back of one was broken and there was no table.
Came for the location, stayed for the service

The hotel is located right next to the gorgeous Mayan archaeological site of Uxmal. Our room (on the 3rd floor) had a view to the pyramids, and we saw the sunrise with the ruins on the background. The staff was super attentive and helpful. The restaurant had really good food with great Mexican and Mayan dishes. But the highlight of our stay was the Beer Spa. Absolutely recommend it! The Spa has two huge barrels which are filled with a combination of beer, water and malt for a deliciously relaxing experience. We had a head and shoulder massage while enjoying the smell of bubbling beer. The next morning we had a "Temazcal" which is a traditional Mexican ritual with aromatherapy in a hot sauna. Amazing experiences!
