Hotel employees extremely unfriendly and lacking respect

Reviewed 21 august, 2021

As a reaction to a minor misunderstanding regarding the consumption of our own beverages, one male employee raised his voice at us and lectured us in the most condescending way I have ever experienced from a hotel employee and for that matter from anyone. When explaining, that the fault happened due to a simple misunderstanding (caused by the unwillingness of the employees to explain things in English while clearly understanding it), said male employee threatened to kick us out of the hotel “if we made the slightest mistake”. The only positive aspect about this stay was the fact that it only lasted one night.

This hotel owner is going for a heart attach soon

We found this hotel and initially it was very agreeable. We however made a small mistake and the owner went totally over the top ballistic. There exists something of a proportional response and this was not that. This made it a very bad experience and i have never in 25 years of travel encountered a treatment like this. But what worries me most is this mans health. If this is the way you deal with hotel guests you must run into a heart attack at some time. I wish this man more peace of mind. And I wished I read other reviews upfront and this does seem to be a pattern with this man.

A great Hotel with a wonderful family running this beautiful hotel in the middle of the best win area in France... Very good rooms and calm atmosphere. If you want to relax and go to the Domains and buy win, this Hotel is perfect for this.

We stayed 9 nights (motorbiking) as a group of 7. We had a very good time there with friendly and helpful new owners of the hotel. Everything was to our wishes and it is hard to find things to comment on: Breakfast was far above the ordinary french with cheese, sausage, ham. A little variation in the 9 days would have been a perfect extra. And we all missed the french crispy baguette which was replaced by out-of-the oven bakery products. Last minor thing: Fixing of the shower head at the wall impossible during showering. Summed up: Closr to perfect... and we will come back! Merci à tous ! Klaus

Almost alone...

We came here off season and on first sight, really was unsure about this place. Of all the grand cru villages, Vacqueryas does not have much about it and the area surrounding the hotel feels a little like an English housing estate. We arrived to a very quiet hotel but a friendly welcome. There is an overwhelming feel of concrete about it, but has a small dining area and a seating area with tv. Our room was down a dark corridor and was small but clean and pleasantly decorated. View was of the car park. Not much to be done in Vacqueryas on an autumn Wed but we managed to squeeze in some wine tasting before everything closed at 6. After a beer in the local bar, we ordered takeaway pizza and took back to the hotel. We sat in front of the tv and ate it with a bottle of wine. The receptionist sat with us until 8, when the reception was closed down and we were left all on our own in the Hotel. I found the thought of us being the only people there a bit spooky! However at breakfast we did see that there had been one other guest. Breakfast was fine, croissant, bread, cheese and jams. Tea, coffee and juice. There are limited options to stay in town and I am sure when the weather is better and the pool is open, it has a different feel.
