Awaiting £500 refund for 1.5 years
My best friend booked this hotel on Expedia 1.5 years ago, cancelled in line with the cancellation policy and never received a refund. A few months later, Michaela from hotel villa took £250 from my friends bank account for no reason and she is now missing £500! We are fighting to get this back in any way we can.
Birthday break away
Sad to be leaving today. Myself and my husband have had a fantastic mini break away to celebrate my Birthday. Hotel very beautiful beatique hotel. From the moment we arrived hotel arranged our taxi to hotel ( organised for return home as well ).All the staff so friendly , helpful from explaining to us about bus into Venice collected tickets From hotel .Bus stop so close to hotel . Couple evenings we walked to Italian restaurant also very close by. Personal touches including candle and cake on my birthday morning at breakfast. Breakfast continental but very lovely adds to the romantic charm of the hotel. Room spotless couldn't fault it A romantic getaway we very sad to be leaving. Thank you so much to everyone at VG for making our holiday so special we will never forget. X lots of love Kelly and Craig Walker.
Not quite sure...
Stayed here recently for 2 nights. We arrived approx 12.30 to be told check in was not until 2.30. We decided to hire a couple of hours and explore the area. The local area is lovely but as previous review mentioned, not much around. We finally checked in. Given a sheet with breakfast times etc. Also informed if you wanted clean towels €7.00 And beds changed every 3 days if you wanted more an additional charge would apply. Breakfast in my opinion was just ok. The usual continental affair. The villa is well maintained and the room was clean. We had a classic double at the back of the hotel. Two things which let it down was no hospitality tray in the room and although you don't go away to watch TV, there were no English channels - that I could find anyway. There is a fairly good bus service you can buy tickets at reception for €9.00 return. Villa is approx 45 mins from venice. I did realise this when I booked, but if I returned to Venice I would stay closer/more central next time.
45min bus ride to Venice
My hubby booked this hotel through Expedia as a special treat, we arrived at Venice bus station only to be told the hotel was 45min bus ride away!! (This was not on the advert description and we were led to believe this was in city centre, as that’s what the description of the hotel advised). So we ended up getting lost, which then led to a 40min walk to the hotel. Once we arrived at the hotel we got all booked in and was ready for something to eat and drink......Where we discovered there is no restaurant on site, no coffee facilities, and a mini bar in the room with limited stock. The hotel is lovely, well maintained, clean and looked after but the lack of facilities let’s it down! Yes the buses go regularly into Venice but it’s 45mins ride to get there, as the hotel is stituated in the middle of no where!! If you wanted your room clean there was an extra charge, if you wanted clean towels there was extra charge, breakfast extra charge. After spending our first day travelling backwards and forwards trying to find food etc, we called it quits and booked another hotel in the centre of Venice. When we left this hotel we thanked them for their service and explained our reason for leaving ( the staff didn’t seem surprised by this), we didn’t ask for a refund we just cut our loses and left In a nut shell hotel lovely and beautiful but 22km out of Venice, 45 min bus ride, no facilities, nowhere near by to get food etc ( unless you walked 3 miles) and the advert selling the hotel is misleading, not much to do,
Excellent hotel and great service
This hotel was built sometime in the 1700's and it has withstood a powerful tornado in the 1990s. This place is quaint, with a lovely courtyard, and excellent staff. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. We truely loved the stay here, my wife fell in love with the structure and the help. We arrived by bus from the Marco Polo Airport. Actually, this was interesting in itself as we got a chance to look at the country side and various businesses. We thought we had a shuttle programmed however, I did not follow up with the hotel and because of my error of not following up we took the bus to the hotel. Because of this we got to know where the bus stop near the hotel (only a few steps away), and we found out where we caught the bus in Venice. Again the staff was very gracious as I thought I had lost or misplaced my Passport and after much searching and thinking the worse, I discovered that I had placed the Passport in a hidden location that I forgot about. The staff assisted as much as they could and after I found it, I was so grateful that the hotel staff searched everywhere!. Thanks Hotel Villa Gasparini staff...Especially the owners wife!!
