Garden Houses

Claudio met us as we arrived on the train at S Lucia, and helped us with our bags to the Garden Houses. We had a two bedroom two storey house, so our teenager had her own room upstairs which for Venice is a real luxury! Claudio's boat was tied up at the back gate of our courtyard garden, and he took us on a fantastic 'insider's' tour of Venice, dropping us at our dinner location afterwards - all part of the service! We had an early flight out on our last day, so the location handy to transport (but not too close, and very quiet) was appreciated.

This is a beautiful and unique historical apartment that makes you feel like you truly live in Venice. Having a breakfast in a small grassy yard overlooking the tiny canal, smelling of fresh sea water, is a priceless experience that will help us to remember Venice forever. The owner is an extremely nice person who helped us in a difficult situation ( we lost our 9 years old son in Venice!) He also allowed us to keep our luggage in the apartment till 5 pm during our last day in Venice and let us come in and change our clothes there before we went to the airport. His boat trip was amazing and we also very much liked the restaurant he recommended. He even brought us to that restraraunt by boat. The stay in Garden Houses and Claudio’s boat tour allowed us to feel “ true” Venice that you will never feel if you stay in hotels in tourist areas. We fell in love with it and hope to be back one day. Claudio, thank you for sorry for all troubles we created!

Claudio is an extremely helpful and hospitable host! Property location is very convenient as it is very close to Piazzale Roma where you will find all the parking lots and where the airport bus and taxis arrive. Bed was very comfortable, it was warm enough (we visited during the winter). Property was clean and everything was functional. We didn't use the kitchen but it was very convenient to have one had we staid longer. It was my third time in Venice and this was, considering value-for-money, the best place where I stayed so far. Highly recommend.

After a bit of a mixup with our booking, we found the houses only a short walk from both the bus and train stations. The host, Claudio, could not have been more helpful and provided us with a map of the city and some essential information with a little history thrown in. The accommodation has been tastefully and sympathetically modernised and is in a 17th century building with gardens outside looking onto the canal behind. Although virtually everything has been thought about and provided, it is situated very conveniently for cafes and restaurants if, like us, you want to eat out during the stay. Claudio can also provide a canal boat trip at very reasonable cost.

We stayed in 2 apartments, one downstairs and one upstairs, which was perfect for our family since our teenager could have his own space upstairs. The location is great, just a short walk from Piazzale Roma (where most people arrive in Venice). Claudio the host was very kind and met us outside the parking lot and spent time to show us and explain the apartments. The facilities were perfect for us. The kitchen was sufficient for us to prepare our own breakfast everyday. The laundry machine came in extremely useful. The terrace at the back next to the canal was nice for relaxing. The highlight of the stay was the boat trip around Venice in Claudio's boat!
