Hotel Santa Chiara

Unfortunately, we couldn't travel to Italy to enjoy our booked weekend in Venice as the Italian authorities imposed a requirement for proof of a negative COVID-19 test on arrival - just 8 hours before our flight was due to take off. On calling the hotel to cancel the booking, we were treated to a very poor attitude. Needless to say we won't be staying here when we can return to Venice.

You feel very welcome and at home. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Breakfast is rich and food is good quality. Rooms are very comfortable, quite some with beautiful view of the canal, designee in Venetian style with high standard of materials. Position is also great. Close by to all the kind of transport and services. Easy walking distance to the all points that you must see in Venice. Very good value for money. Davor Fabris

First is location: the district of Santa Croce where the hotel is located is beautiful and not very well known by most tourists. Is very venetian and with a lot of activities - restaurants, bars, museums, churches, casino, etc. – all walking distance. Thanks to strategic location is also not far to other districts – one can just walk or take the water transport. Vaporetto stops are just in front of Santa Chiara. The hotel itself is a wonderful mix of two wings, carefully restored old classic Venetian building (former monastery) and modern but still Venetian style new addition. Every room has its own style too, also both modern and Venetian. Most have beautiful view on Canal Grande of side canal. Both wings were renovated and updated recently. Rooms are large, with modern equipment. Hotel has own restaurant and bar, many food items are freshly produced by the hotel. And it is the only hotel in Venice with own underground car park. Tourist attraction by itself is beautiful, restored in detail, wooden Venetian motorboat, which docks in front of the hotel and it might be rented for trips through Venice and Lagoon. The staff knows everything on Venice, so best way to plan your activities is to ask them, you will save a lot of time and money.

I am a regular visitor to Venice and have stayed in many hotels and apartments in different areas of Venice. Santa Chiara Hotel is in a great location. Flying in to Treviso Airport and 45 minutes on the coach and you arrive at the bus station. 1 minute walk and you are welcomed in to the lovely Reception of the hotel. The staff are very kind and helpful and advise on things to do in Venice and help with arrangements. The porter was particularly helpful when I arrived with my suitcase and wet from the rain. Immediately they took my case and directed me to the bathroom to dry myself. I was then kindly offered a warm drink. The rooms are lovely and the hotel is very clean. The hotel has a nice buzz about it. It’s a great part of Venice and easy to walk to other areas or take the vaporetto. It’s also very close to the train station. The last time I was there I caught a train in to the countryside and it was so easy. I would definitely recommend this hotel for its location, rooms and helpfulness of staff.

I spent a weekend at Santa Chiara (anniversary). Well, the parking service, the room and breakfast were really good. I think they have renewed it recently cause all was looking so bright :)))) Thanks again Mr Roberto (the owner), you were very kind to us. Ciao
