HIdden gem in Venice (and fully Covid safe)
We had an amazing stay at the Santa Croce Bouitique hotel! The hotel is right in the middle of Venice, but slightly off the beaten track, so you are steps away from all the highlights yet not in the middle of the tourist crowds, and also has a wonderful private courtyard where you can relax after a busy day of sightseeing. It is a 6 minute walk from the airport water taxi and only 3 minutes from a vaporetto water bus stop (Canal Grande route). These are, of course, exceptional times, and the staff was excellent in working with us as our travel dates changed due to changing corona rules in Europe (thank you Luca!). The hotel also has taken thorough Covid safety and hygiene measures. throughout the property. The breakfast buffet had been replaced with an a-la-care -service that was at least as plentiful. Guests were asked to indicate their preferred breakfast time the evening before, to ensure that social distancing rules in the restaurant were adhered to. Our room was fantastic (the website pictures are accurate), the bathroom appeared to be brand new and also featured a steam bath. The staff did everything to make our stay perfect, including special sight seeing tips from the Manager Elisabetta. To the whole Santa Croce team, thank you for making this a perfect stay. We look forward to being back!
Great location, very safe, very well decorated.
Spending 2 nights in Venice on our Italian tour we wanted somewhere nice that was enough in the main areas without being too touristy and the Santa Croce Boutique Hotel ticked all our boxes. The rooms are beautifully decorated in hand made finishes. Our room had enough space and was very peaceful with windows overlooking the courtyard. Venice was very sleepy when we were there so the stay was super quiet. Breakfast was socially spaced out (booked times) so always felt very safe and nice to eat down in the courtyard area. Staff are very helpful and friendly and will always try to assist where they can. The hotel is around a 10 minute walk from the main train station and is perfectly located to get to the Jewish Quarter, St Marks Square, Rialto and all of the main tourist sights although navigating around Venice can be tricky at the best of times, there are so many canals and bridges!
Excellent bar et garden
Bravo Andrea, best cocktail in town for a great price. The place is wonderful, a quiet garden in a well located neighborhood. The staff is extremely welcoming and the cocktail menu awesome. I recommend to try the Professor in Mexico.
Lovely stay!
This hotel was a perfect choice for us. Such a friendly welcome from Francesca and wonderful service from everyone throughout. Our room was quite small but spotless and very pretty with plenty of storage. I think some rooms are larger but we were only staying one night so went for the least expensive option. A shelf in the shower/hooks in the bathroom would be a handy addition but other than that we had everything we needed and more than enough lovely smelling toiletries etc. Breakfast was served in the garden and we also had fabulous cocktails there before we went out for dinner. Andrea promised the best Negroni ever and he definitely delivered! The location is very good. Near to lots of little restaurants and bars, pretty central for walking or using the water buses and less than ten minutes from the bus and train stations. Only three bridges and very doable on foot if you are fit and able. There is also an ice-cream place steps from the hotel. It’s called Alaska and well worth a visit too! We will recommend this hotel to friends and will probably be back next time we’re in Venice.
Lovely little place!
5* service from all staff, special shout out to Francesca who helped us with our travel arrangements, phone chargers and advised us on a restaurant. Rooms are beautiful. We were celebrating our 2nd wedding anniversary and they had put a love heart flower arrangement out on the bed. Breakfast was lovely, we had to order beforehand (for Covid) and it was always lovely and fresh. Will be returning and recommending!
