Honest
There are advantages and disadvantages to refer on. On advantages are the location of it. The hotel is locate across the railway station and at the edge of old town centre. On disadvantages are the poor cleaning conditions, the aged construction and furniture and the mouse running in the dining area of breakfast.
Lost Glory
I lived in this city as a child. This hotel was the place to go, for the upper class. Now, some 40 years later the place is a sham. Torn filthy carpets, cumbersome keys to lose, safes on the wall that do not work. The rooms reek like fabrize. Restaurant guesta use the parking so as a hotel guest you are sol. Some effort to update the bathrooms. The restaurant is also OK, obviously meant to be kept up. At breakfast, patrons needed to find servers to fill empty food bins and drinks. The dutch say: Vergane Glorie (lost glory) How sad!
Played the z festival
We played the festival in venlo on Sunday evening and this was the accommodation provided. It was perfect for us for a place to get our heads down for a few hours before catching our flights. The breakfast was ok and had enough choice. The bed was comfy but I could imagine it not being the nicest for a family or couple bit out dated. Netherless it was clean and comfy and the staff seemed nice, just needs abit of updating.
Basic Lodging
This is very basic lodging. Back in the day when I traveled extensively as a single I stayed in places like this on a regular basis. But my wife won't. So for the past two years, we moved up the food chain a lot. But I am back solo on this trip. I wanted to come to Venlo. Wilhelmina is convenient being across the street from the train station. But believe me, we are talking small and basic.
Centrally located hotel
The good: great staff, good food, good prices, very nicely laid out terrace, dining and breakfast rooms. The location is close to two museums and the area was nice to stroll around, despite being close to the train station. Comfortable bed, small desk. The bad: Nothing. Oh, okay, yes, the carpets are a bit worn and the elevator creaks. But what would you rather have? Clean, crisp sheets on your bed and a great price? Or new carpet? The peculiar: Wizzard room safe with no instructions and no apparent way to lock it.
