Very dog friendly

Reviewed 4 december, 2021

We were very pleased with our stay. We brought our dog since we had read that the hotel was pet friendly, and while many other hotels may say this, Kimpton really does love dogs! There were so many other dogs staying there, which was really fun. Even so, the hotel was very clean. The location was great as well. Staff was helpful. We will definitely stay here again.

Fabulous Anniversary at the Taconic

Reviewed 29 november, 2021

My husband and I recently had the pleasure of celebrating our 29th Anniversary at the Taconic. We also decided to bring our 2 dogs. The hotel from the outside is very pretty and the recent snowfall made it magical, especially at night with all the white lights. The moment we entered the lobby we knew we would love the Taconic! Charming and rustic, the open lobby filled with upscale distressed leather couches, comfortable chairs and ottomans along with a crackling fire in a beautiful fieldstone fireplace set the Vermont scene perfectly. Robert at the front desk welcomed us with a big smile. As he checked us in, he told us about the hotel amenities, area attractions and restaurant suggestions. Minutes after our arrival, a chilled bottle of champagne along with some local chocolates and nuts were delivered to our room as a Happy Anniversary gift from TeamTaconic - so thoughtful!! A shout out also to assistant general manager Derek for setting us up in a fantastic King fireplace room - spacious and super comfortable. Definitely 5 star service from ALL of the hardworking Taconic staff- they do an excellent job. Breakfast at the on -site Copper Grouse Restaurant was delicious (I recommend the Eggs Benedict) and once again the service was perfect! Dogs are warmly welcomed here and the hotel is extremely accommodating with a ceramic jar of biscuits and several water bowls. For the evening Wine Hour, we lounged on a comfy sofa with our dogs. No doubt, they loved every minute! There were plenty of other guests with dogs of all shapes and sizes also. Everyone was definitely having a great time and it was very entertaining. The next morning we sat with our dogs and sipped our coffees in front of the crackling fire. What a perfect getaway!! We absolutely loved everything about the charming Taconic, a big thank you to the staff for the wonderful service and we look forward to another memorable visit!

Great stay - friendly staff

Reviewed 27 november, 2021

Stayed Thanksgiving week 2021 and really enjoyed ourselves. Wonderful clean hotel, good food and very friendly staff. It's covid but really think they should have managed to have restaurant open 3 meals everyday - too short staffed (like everyone else). Went to nearby hotel one morning when Taconic restaurant closed, and it was an absolute nightmare - 45 minute wait to be seated after being told 10 min, then 45 minute later for food that was just average. Next day Taconic open again, still shorthanded but staff, Kristen and Noah, kept us posted, very friendly and food was delicious - quite the difference. Would definitely stay again! Highly recommend

Staying at the Taconic Hotel

Fabulous hospitality beginning with Robert and team at the front desk, all the way through every individual contributor. Staff was in overdrive to please the guests in the restaurant all day and night long. Everyone loved our 2 chocolate Labradors and treated with such kindness, and 4-legged biscuits abound… The piece de la resistance was the service and amazing meal on Thanksgiving! Huge shout out to Molly, our server, who was 10/10. Enjoy the tip we splurged on you! We want everyone to stay at the Taconic to experience heaven.

Five-Star Service Makes This A Stand-out Hotel

Reviewed 27 november, 2021

My husband and I just came back from a memorable anniversary/Thanksgiving getaway at the Kimpton Taconic Hotel. Yes, the hotel rooms, amenities and restaurant are great. But what makes this property so wonderful is the staff. Everyone that we came in contact with was so friendly and helpful. Huge thanks to Robert at the front desk who made sure that our stay was special throughout our stay. Since he had left for the day before we checked in, he made sure that we were well taken care of at arrival by Ian. We were treated to an amazing room upgrade and anniversary Welcome amenity. Such a warm welcome! Gladys of Housekeeping was super friendly and accommodating. She made sure that our room was well-stocked every day. Beth called us weeks in advance to get our Thanksgiving Day dinner booked at the Copper Grouse. Since I had some dietary concerns, she consulted the chef and emailed us a menu in advance. The fireplace in our room was a little noisy. The engineer came right away and while we were out, meticulously cleaned the fireplace. The staff really goes out of their way to make sure your stay is a great one. Can't recommend this property highly enough. Looking forward to returning in the spring!
