In the middle of wine country
Pleasant stay with a nice breakfast. Large courtyard with helpful host. We had fun exploring the surroundings with our bikes. Large vineyards and cornflields red with poppies. The rooms are nice but a bit basic.
Lovely villa near the Loire
Very fashionable and cozy accommodiation in the valley of the Loire, with a really gentle host. The room is renoveted and modern, but in villa we felt like we are in the victorian of the 18th century. The breakfast was unforgettable. Absolutely recommended.
Very Charming!
This is in a location that is only accessible by car. The town is a lovely medieval village 10 minutes from Amboise. The owner bought the 19th century home/estate to restore and has 5 guest rooms for rent. The hospitality was very warm, the property incredibly beautiful and relaxing. Close to Tours, Amboise and other cute rural towns. Fantastic breakfast, modern rooms, what more can you ask for? Check in is at 6pm, as the couple that owns the property still works full time.
Not great
I would have thought thought that a chambre d'hote should at the very least offer a comfortable bed. We stayed in the pavillon du jardin and it was atrocious. The room was musty and dank and the bed was the most uncomfortable we've ever slept on. Perhaps the rooms in the house are better. If you are considering a stopover here do not choose this room unless of course you like the sensation of sleeping on planks of wood. The village itself is pretty and the house is nicely situated, with a lovely garden area. The breakfast was good but that says more about the local boulangerie than the establishment. The host was friendly.
Stopover stay
We visited this hotel many years ago when it was a full hotel not B&B and enjoyed our stay ,this wasa one night stop en route to the South .We were made very welcome and our room was well furbished and clean. We had requested advice on a dinner reservation and were delighted that Monsieur had booked a place in Vouvray for us which was a real experience ....in a troglodyte cave !!!!! superb food and ambience ...we would never have found this restaurant on our own so a big thank you.Breakfast was plentiful ,parking was secure the only downside for us was that we were unable to book in until after 6pm but would recommend this B&B
