Literally a great hotel and great staff!

I had a wonderful time at the sandman, it was clean and my room was very nice but what made the stay the most memorable was the staff. I’ve never experienced such sweet and helpful hotel staff. Especially Olu at the front desk. I will be back!!!

Good Location Easy to Find

What I liked was the bathroom looked really clean. I missed having a Kleenex box there though. I liked being able to order food to my room from their café. It was really good. They add the tip to your bill. I don't travel much so I guess that's everywhere. It was nice and quiet. Staff friendly. What I didn't like was the windows dont open. I was dying for fresh air in the night. How do they ever clean the air in there I dont know. I had my flashlight at night and turned it on and could see all the dust floating around. Yuck. The pillows were big and solid. Wouldn't sink down and i got a sore neck. Should have brought my own. There was no pen or paper to make some notes but used my phone instead. No city guide but used phone instead. The coffee pot was dirty. Looked like it had just been wiped with a cloth and not washed with soap and water. Eww wonder what cloth they wiped it with. There were still grounds in it. I had to clean it. The mattress wasn't as nice as other places i stayed at. A little too firm for me but still ok. I know mattress are a preference. There were no usb ports either. Would I stay there again? Probably not. All in all it was ok.

Good hotel for a short stay -reasonable price

Clean room with the usual amenities like coffee maker, mini fridge & microwave. Room is fairly updated look. Room would be quieter if the fridge did not hum continuously- high pitch. Queen bed is softer than I prefer. Room was good temperature- warm. Parking is free. There is complimentary coffee/tea in the lobby if you look around- not advised:advertised. Unfortunately, awoken by false fire alarm at 6 am - pouring rain and barefoot. Manager did not talk to the guests or apologize. Easy drive to Mayfair Mall, Starbucks, Wholefoods , Tim Hortons etc. Sports bar- Shark Club is attached to hotel. It could be noisy if covid restrictions weren’t in place. Also private wine & liquor store is on- site. Need a car to drive to downtown/ Parliament buildings

Had a great stay in the Sandman Victoria with the volleyball team for 4 nights last week. The lower rooms were a little old, but they're currently renovating and I heard the top floors are complete and pretty nice. It's central to everything and only 5 minutes away from Downtown. The pool and hot tub were fine. The gym was small, but I've got an Anytime Fitness pass, which is only 5 minutes away. What made the stay great were the staff. Very accommodating and always helping us out. Charlie made it so easy to book and we also met her and John at the front desk when we checked in. Thanks to the both of you for making everyone feel welcomed. Will stay there again.
