Overpriced for a declining hotel
Reviewed 5 august, 2022
Dropped in for a beer here with a view to booking a large group later in the year. Gone downhill hugely since our last visit. Also pricing was extortionate with a 33cl bottle of cider at €8 (generally around €4 to €4.50 in the area and also in the far superior hotel we are staying in). Very unlikely to be back.
Fantastic Family Holiday

I'm not normally one to give such public reviews however after being extremely hesitant at the mixed reviews of Crowne Plaza I feel this is a must! I'm currently sitting on my balcony and the only sound I can hear is the crashing of the waves, there is no noisy casino and building works as some others have mentioned. The staff here are beyond amazing and nothing is too much for them. The rooms are fantastic and the breakfast is the best I've ever had. Can't recommend this place enough, it's so good and the fact that previous reviews have been negative just totally surprises me in every way. 5 *+
Another great stay

Can only echo Jabey87. We were co concerned about noise from the building site and the casino, having read some recent reviews. However noise from the site was sporadic, with only about 4 blokes working. There was nothing from the casino, the hotel at night is a very quiet and a relaxed place to be. I am sure there may have been a point where the site was noisy, drilling and excavation can be so, however nothing now to spoil or visit. It's our second stay at CP, we can not fault it, or Vilamoura for that fact. We hope to come again next summer, or before! It's been a fabulous 10 days, just a picture we go home tomorrow!
Pleasantly Surprised and had a Wonderful Stay

Just returned home from a wonderful stay at CP Vilamoura. We were apprehensive after reading some reviews on here to the point where we nearly cancelled. We are so glad that we didn’t. We had a great time and will definitely return in the future. This hotel is wonderful. Our room was facing the building works, we didn’t see the point in paying extra for a room elsewhere as we didn’t plan on using the balcony that much. Our young son also liked to have a look at what was going on. We didn’t notice the noise from the building works and it didn’t have a negative impact on our stay. We were also told about the building works by Jet2 ahead of our stay. The room itself was fine, spacious and clean. There is an internal door which separates the bedroom area from the bathroom and small hallway. We saw this as a good way to keep out noise from the corridor although there didn’t seem to be any as the hotel atmosphere is relaxed. The breakfast buffet was great. Loads of choice and food was delicious. There is an option to sit inside or outside and both were great. There was a lot of staff available in the breakfast room so tables are cleared pretty quickly. The food at the Seafront pool restaurant was lovely too. We had dinner here 2 nights and it was a very relaxed atmosphere and quiet. There was a saxophonist playing on the Friday evening. The kids area at the kids pool was an excellent facility that we really appreciated. We sat there everyday and it was quiet most days. The pirate ship is an excellent play area and the kids club is an excellent facility. Big shout out to Bernardo and the girls for keeping our little boy and other kids entertained. The layout of this area is fab as we were able to be at the sun beds and see the play area, pool and kids club. This was a big plus for us. All staff we encountered seemed very helpful and friendly. All in all, a great hotel. It’s big, spacious and didn’t feel busy or overcrowded. Close to the beach, 10 minute walk to marina and great for families with small children.
Noise from casino ruined stay

The hotel main areas are nice the restaurant and pool area are lovely and all the staff are friendly and helpful. We knew there was building work so we paid for a vilamoura facing room to avoid noise from the building works and so far every night the noise from the casino area has been horrendous just groups of people outside all night making so much noise cars screeching even with the balcony doors closed it’s horrendous I think the crowne plaza really needs to do something about this noise! The building work is quite noisy during the day too so we went to the beach most days to avoid this. We visited the crowne plaza about 4 years ago and didn’t have the noise problem but it does seem to be a much younger crowd now in vilamoura altogether lots of young big groups Not in the hotel itself but just the whole area. Don’t think I will be returning due to the noise at night.
