Good place for overnight stay travelling from northern Spain.
Stopped off overnight. Very handy for motorway. Clean, large room with tv, fridge, and sofa - nice to sit and relax after a long day driving. Cafeteria on site, all home cooked food, can recommend the lamb chops. Run by friendly couple.
May be 'dog friendly' if you're paying, but they don't know how to look after their dog.
Overnight stay whilst travelling from Almeria to Bilbao. Easy to find and quite close to the Autovia. Rooms are chalet style, basic but you get what you pay for. Bed was very hard and uncomfortable. Furniture needed updating. Shower was pretty good once you worked out the controls. A couple of lights were not working.Bar restaurant supplied basic meals which you picked from a picture board. No prices shown so you had to ask. When we arrived early evening we strolled around the grounds. Behind the block of chalets we were staying in was a large, high fenced compound with a secure gate. The ground was bare sandy earth with few weeds. In the compound was a large, very friendly dog. He was wearing a thick leather collar attached to a short chain. He couldn't walk very far because of the chain. There was no shade. There was a small brick kennel which the dog would have great difficulty fitting into. His 'bed' was a broken wooden pallet. We went in to see him and he wanted to play. When was he last exercised? I saw no sign of water or a feeding bowl. We spoke to a member of staff in the bar and she agreed that it wasn't right but it wasn't her dog. Before leaving next morning I checked on the dog again and nothing had changed. At checkout we spoke to a man who told us he wasn't the owner. I asked him to get the owner/manager and he declined as he was sleeping. we told him of our concerns about the dog and he showed little interest. We asked for the complaints book and he told us the Motel didn't have one as it didn't need one. Wrong! It is obligatory. We told him that we would be reporting the matter to the Guardia Civil Seprona division, which we have done and they are now dealing with the matter. I also told him that I would be posting a review on Trip Advisor. He seemed unconcerned. What an appalling way to treat any animal. We will visit the motel next trip but Definitely will not be staying.
Good overnight stay
Stayed overnight on our journey from Bilbao to southern Spain. Spacious, clean room and good food from the on site cafeteria. Good dog friendly accommodation. Would recommend San Isidro to anyone travelling with a dog.
Dog friendly but not rushing back.
On the plus side it is practical as an overnight stop on the motorway. The rooms are a good size and it was comfortable enough, but the room was fundamentally dirty. The floor was not swept anywhere other than in front of the bed and there were stained sheets. We had a flying ant invasion around 8pm and when we asked to change rooms, we were given a can of ant spray. Only one staff member to do everything, including all the cooking. Perhaps too much for one person to cope with everything in July. Overall relatively expensive by the time you add in breakfast and the extra we were charged for having a dog, compared to other places we have stayed. Won’t be rushing back.
3rd stay, safe parking, quirky cabins, loveely roses!
We have stayed before, convenient stop before Madrid if catching a ferry. Forget satnav - just look for the 'Salida 90' turn off and look for the big sign - on south bound side, so if heading north turn off and cross over bridge, look for signs to turn left. There is a cafe on site for snack meals, but havent tried it. Staff friendly, cabins comfy, showers not to my taste, but fine for a one night stop. Fridge in room, handy. Parking safe and right outside your door. Was really impressed with the roses all around the site - they have come on a storm from last visit. Only slight critisisms, light over bathroom mirror not working (told they have problem with one or two and cant seem to fix it - but are working on it) Also, as my husband had spread his belongings over the sofa, i lifted the cushions to check nothing had gone down - needed a serious hoover of beneath cushions - so left them off so staff would see! Nothing that would stop me recommending this motel for a night or two though.
