More about the hotel
Such a beautiful hotel
The Versailles is a wonderful hotel with the best views of Villefranche bay. We were lucky enough to stay here for a long weekend before Covid forced all Villefranche hotels & restaurants into early September closure. The hotel swimming pool is perfect. The staff are all very friendly despite these depressing times. Thanks for a wonderful stay.
A little jewel in the Riviera
This little hotel exceeded expectations. Perched on top of the hill, the view is quite simply breathtaking. Treat yourself to drinks or dinner( why stop at just one dinner ?) The food was varied and the fish chosen ( loup) was outstanding. Here it is service with a smile. It is an easy walk into town and down the hill to the beaches and port. Holiday finished, I started planning my return. A good sign!
Retro Charm
We spent 2 nights at the Versailles Hotel. We had a 3 person room on the 4th floor (technically -4). The room was spacious and the 3rd bed is a regular bed not a rollaway bed. The terrasse is very big and with all day sun. We really liked the Pool house level with the breakfast room, the comfortable lounge chairs around the pool (which was perfectly clean), and the magic touch is having a light lunch under the olive trees. We did not have diner on the ground floor but the view is amazing and the bar is also very inviting. Refurbishing efforts are done with a cool retro taste. We loved it.
Wonderful
We travelled to Villefranche-sur-Mer to enable us to go to the uk without quarantine but had no idea what lay in store. This quaint family run business was great, the staff were friendly and helpful in spite of the number of guests and pressure. The upstairs bar and restaurant were excellent, lovely staff and excellent cocktails. Would recommend.
Beautiful view, adorable staff and great location!
We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights in July 2020, just after it's reopening post-covid lockdown. Obviously cleanliness and hygiene was a big concern but the hotel was impeccable at cleaning, disinfecting, and having gels available all over the place. Aside from this, the hotel is situated a few buses stops away from Nice's center. Great location to be close enough to the city, have a beautiful village and the bay in walking distance, and also the bus stop to get to Monaco. we discovered a lot for 5 days with this hotel being our base! All rooms as far as I understood have the view of the sea, but i think all rooms have the same thin walls... I know that this is pretty normal in France, and to be honest except for a one night where our neighbors were a bit loud it didn't bother us that much. but still, if you have light sleep maybe ask for a room with no neighbors :D The room furniture (normal room) was basic, comfortable but nothing extraordinary. there is a safe box in the room but no fridge or coffee machine or tea sets. we didn't eat at the restaurant for dinner or lunch but the breakfast was decent. knowing the COVID situation and the fact that buffet breakfast is a long lost memory now, the breakfast was still a very nice highlight for our days. having it next to the pool and more importantly having it served by adorable staff. I would however say that if you are a foodie and want/need a really rich and complete breakfast, for the same price you will find amazing options in the city... The pool is not heated, but very nice on a hot day. Finally, regarding the price, we booked directly on the hotel website to make sure they get to keep the maximum possible in these hard times. I wouldn't call it a bargain or even good value for money, but I also think that view and the lovely staff have no price.
