Cheese…in the bed!
Reviewed 17 october, 2021
The first room we got reeked of weed. The toilet didn’t flush appropriately, and the bathroom light was out. The hair dryer was a fire hazard. When I checked the bed sheets, specks of blood. Sign that there were bed bugs in the mattress. When I went to the front desk, they were nice enough to give us a different room. We went from a king to a standard double bed, no big deal. The new room was a lot better. I still did my whole walk through. The bathroom was in much better shape, and all the lights worked. When I checked the bed sheets there was cheese…in the bed. We also found Mac and cheese on the floor, and pizza crust. The room also smelled of urine in one of the corners.
Definitely should be Cheaper

Check In was a breeze. Staff friendly. However, the room smelled of weed (even though we asked for a non smoking room) and half the lights didn't work...including the one in the bathroom. The bedding was dirty and had stains on them with holes all over the comforter from cigarettes. Next to a steak house and a waffle house so at least there's food options.
My suitcase was stolen. The hotel is in a terrible condition and very unsafe. Do not stay in that hotel!

Pay Attention! My Suitcase was Stolen! ====================================== My suitcase was stolon from my room when I was to a restaurant for dimmer. My loss was of at least 2,360 dollars. I informed the Police and a detective is working diligently on this case. The Econo Lodge Hotel owner, Ms. Rachel Patel, was absolutely non-cooperative. She did not want to discuss by phone with me the theft of my suitcase and she hanged up. The rooms are in a difficult to imagine bad condition. The superior part of the air conditioner of my room was missing. The floor of a room given to a family of friends with whom I was travelling was full of water and the full cover of the air conditioned was missing. They had to change three rooms to find one in which it was possible to sleep. The rooms were advertised as non-smoking but they were not. Doru Tsaganea, Ph.D. College Professor
Never Stayed at a Worse Hotel In my Live

I came down to the area with some friends to hang out on the weekend. Most of the hotels in the area were booked or were crazy expensive that weekend. We settled on this econo lodge because it was the most affordable, at $187/night. When we got there, we were treated to one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed at. This place looks like it should be renting rooms by the hour, instead of for the night. The entire hotel is a smoking hotel. I didn't even know they existed anymore. The bathroom is a TOTAL DISASTER. Cigarette burn marks on the side of the tub. Bath Tub/Shower literally falling apart with the finish peeling in big patches. I thought at first that I was being punk'd or that I at least had the worst room of the group that I was with. After seeing everyone else's room, I realized that mine was one of the best rooms. Since it was too late to find another hotel at a decent rate, we decided to get just enough sleep to get back on the road and head home. I WILL NEVER STAY IN ANOTHER ECONO LODGE.
Worst Motel I've Ever Stayed At

If you're into gambling, drinking, smoking (of both kinds), and whatever else seedy, this is the place for you! Our room reeked and was so dirty-seeming, I was afraid I'd get hepatitis from walking on the bare floors. The lock needs a lot of muscle to close. But I'd advise it - if you stay here. The beds do appear clean. But they seem like the cheapest of spring mattresses. Sad that Virginia Beach jacks up its prices so high during the Summer so even a pit like this is over $100 a night - on a discount website.
