Good hotel, lovely breakfast and reasonably priced
Reviewed 9 January, 2020
We stayed here just after Xmas with our son and his girlfriend, for the 2nd time this year. We like the welcoming atmosphere, good beds and showers and the excellent location near the railway station.
Breakfast is great value served by very friendly and helpful staff. To be recommended!

Where should I start... I really wouldn't know...
Maybe from the room entrance. I open the door and the washbasin is right there in front of me. Something I've seen only in budget hotels (google "HotelF1" for a countercheck) and worried me a bit. But, seen that, things can only improve, can't they?
In front of the basin there is the """wardrobe""" (I am forced to use this number of quotation marks not to offend your wardrobes at home), which is definitely too narrow for a couple of weeks worth of luggage (even taking into account the laundry, but we'll laugh - ehm... talk - about it later), but the very ominous thing is the bifold door, which forces me to play "guess what it is" with my clothes in the morning, as it does not open completely and does not reveal the content.
Let's move to the room properly said. Jeez, it was so spartan I feared I ended up by mistake in the staff quarters. On the bed there were two duvets (two? I am supposed to have one king size bed, I expect the cover to be single) folded and just laying there. Not even the bed was properly done.
Other than that, there was just the furniture.
Not even a pen, some sheet of paper, nothing at all. As advertised in the website: "convenient amenities for the modern business or leisure traveller, such as complimentary WiFi Internet access". Whoever feels the need to jot down a line these days? Who on earth would like to find a welcome book with the peculiarities of the hotel and of the area to browse while chilling out after the arrival?
Nothing, nothing at all. Be content with the WiFi, you greed!
But the surprises were not finished, since looking down, I saw the moquette was covered in stains. Some of them right close to the bed, as you can see in the photo. I would call it disgusting, but let's not overindulge, as I'm about to puke.
On the side of the bed there is the bedside cabinet, which provides the switch for the lamps on the room (the lighting is so poor a bat would complain for the darkness), the switch for the abat-jour and, OH JOY!, a telephone socket! Now, that’s something useful. Not a power socket where I can recharge my phone and have it at hand in the morning. A frigging telephone socket. In a standard no longer in use since eons. By the way, where is the phone? Oh, no phone. Well done, well done indeed! (*SARCASM*)
The latest great news is that the room is not cleaned or just touched other than every four days. FOUR DAYS? And you dare to call this a place convenient for the business traveler? But you can agree for more frequent cleaning. Paying, of course, abysmal amounts of money, as per the photo. Note that the hovel described above costs about 100 euros per night.
Oh, I promised you I’d have talked about the laundry. Ok. Even if in the television presentation (found that by accident) states that laundry bags and list are in the wardrobe (like in every hotel, I’d say), in the wardrobe there is nothing like that, of course. I ask the reception and I’m confirmed that they do laundry but there is nothing like that and provides me with a couple of garbage bags to stuff my clothes in. I don’t even comment on this.
So, as per the title, no, there is no reason for any of you reading to come here.
Don’t do it.
I won’t do another time.
