Vero Beach Disney
Place is great. It’s a short walk to the beach. The pool was nice and clean. The only problem was there is only one way into pool area and if you went to the bathroom you need to walk around entire pool. The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to help me get a dining reservation. The rooms were clean but had some scratches on the floors. It is a quiet resort with one sit down restaurant plus a quick service place and a bar area. The resort gets quiet after dinner. The ocean waves can really throw you so be prepared. Overall the place is excellent I was there in 2009 and the place is just as nice.
Great first visit
This was our first time to the resort and it will not be the last. We were extremely lucky to get room 2229. It is an ocean view Inn room. It was huge. The only down side was not having an ocean front balcony but the room was perfect for our family. The staff was amazing. The pool slide was so much fun. We wanted to do the Movies on the Lawn but they started after our kids wanted to retire for the evening. We rented a kayak and my youngest fished on their lake. The food was very good from the quick service. The sit down restaurant was ok.
Perfect stay
I cannot say how much we enjoyed our stay. It was the perfectly relaxing stay we were hoping to have. It was incredibly low key, and while it may not seem like there is much to do at the resort, we didn't need to "go go go" so it was perfect for us. We stayed in a one bedroom villa for 7 nights, and it was just right for 3 people. Everything was is excellent working order, we had a wonderful view of the pool, and we were steps away from beach access. There were nightly movies on the lawn, and a super fun water slide at the pool. If you are looking for somewhere to just relax, this is the place! We will be back. Tip: if you-re bugging about Disney World, it's only about an hour and 45 minutes away. Great day trip to get out and get your fix.
Loved our room
The resort was very clean & well kept which was expected as DVC members. We had a 1 bedroom and it was great. Bed was very comfortable, it was very clean & nice to have some of the comforts of home - kitchen, washer & dryer, etc. The pool area was nice & clean. Lifeguards & pool staff were very attentive. While there isn't much around the resort, we were there to relax & enjoy the sunshine while it was below zero at home. So that is what we did. If you are used to & expecting the usual Disney - this is very much toned down from that.
Great getaway a short way from Orlando
We decided to spend a long weekend here after a few of our cruises cancelled but we still wanted some Disney spirit away from WDW. This beautiful resort is only a few hours away from Orlando and is the perfect getaway. There isn’t much around to do outside of the resort and that is the charm of it. You feel like you are secluded and in your own little bubble. The service here is amazing. Every cast member said hi and greeted us warmly. Everyone we came in contact with was very helpful and warm. This reminded us of the level of Disney service you get on the ships as well. There were also a slew of activities to keep you busy. The grounds were beautiful and peaceful. It is not a large resort. The beach is beautiful and picturesque. They were testing serving coffee drinks in the Bar area every morning which was nice. The bar, The Green Cabin Room, was a great place to get a drink each evening and had beautiful views of the ocean on the patio. The gift shop had a good selection of movies to rent as each room has a blu-ray player. We took advantage of this on one of the days when it was raining. We enjoyed the dining options. We ate at the Wind & Waves restaurant for dinner and breakfast and then used the quick service for all other meals. FYI if you book a deluxe studio you could end up either in the Inn (main building) or one of the villas. The inn studio rooms will have two queen beds, the villa studios will have a queen bed and couch and a slightly different layout. Our travel agent booked a studio thinking it was the Villa style one and when we got out in the inn we questioned it and were moved. Both rooms were nice just different styles. I would prefer next time to have a water view or not be right next to the pool. It was a little noisy with the pool right outside our door. And for how beautiful this resort was and not full it would have been to have an ocean view. We will definitely be back and have found a new getaway that is close to home but still feels like a world away.
