Nightmare on Wade Hampton
Opinión escrita el 5 de Septiembre de 2021
We arrived with an IHG digital check in. If you are not familiar, you are supposed to show your ID and get your room keys. Jarred, the desk clerk, said, “Hold on. I will be back in a sec.”. Ten minutes later, he came back and told us that the housekeeping staff was short staffed so he had to find us a clean room. He checked us in and gave us a room assignment. When we went up to the room, the room appeared to have the duvet thrown over the bed, the floor had not been swept as there was a twist tie on the floor, a coffee stain from spilled coffee on the entry way tile and trash in the trash can. The towels were in a pile on the sink, clean but not tucked away like what is typical of the hotel chain. I pulled back the duvet, and found the sheets with hair on them. We went downstairs and told him that we wanted a clean room. He disappeared for another 10 minutes and came down to the desk and told us that he was upgrading us to a suite for the inconvenience. We proceeded to that room and that room was also dirty. There was lipstick on two of the pillowcases, there were hairs on both side of the bed, the floors were not vacuumed, and the bathroom was dirty. We went back to the desk and demanded a refund as this was not where we wanted to lay our heads. Jarred disappeared to the back office where he apparently talked to the general manager, Amina Turner, who was the manager on duty. She never came out to address the issue, but Jarred offered to put us up in a sister hotel in the area. Amina later advised him to tell us that since we got a refund, she was not willing to do that for us. Jarred proceeded to tell us that this whole situation was not his fault, I advised him that while I do realize that they are short staffed, that he would need to accept responsibility for looking the rooms over and saying they were both clean—because they were not. The general manager could have had the decency to come out and address the situation. We ended up going to Crowne Royal a few miles down the street. It was clean and well managed. We usually stay at Holiday Inns because they are generally clean places with great employees. This was not the case for this place. I would highly recommend that you check your room if you are staying here. If a hotel has a housekeeping staff that can thoroughly clean 10 rooms, then they should offer only 10 rooms. In a world where a hotel posts a COVID clean policy at their front door, then they should clean.
Weekend in Greenville

We stayed at this hotel for two nights during a visit to Greenville South Carolina. The room was very clean, however the sofa bed was quite uncomfortable, the mattress was extremely thin and you coul feel the springs and there was no bedding for the sofabed.. we actually had to go down to the Lobby to pick up the bedding. There is a very nice outdoor Lounge next to the pool. The breakfast was good, coffee was delicious and there is a Walmart supermarket across the street which was very convenient. The staff was friendly and professional. If you don't need use of the sofabed, I would recommend this hotel.
Decent for a night or two

The hotel front desk staff was not welcoming at all! It was definitely not a good first impression. I had to ask why the price was higher than I booked and he told me that it's because they add a $50 refundable deposit. It seems to me they should explain the bill before charging your card though! He also didn't even tell me my room number or anything, just handed me the card and told me my room number and internet code "were in there". The hotel was nice and the pool looked nice, though we didn't use the pool. Breakfast was typical continental, but was surprised that they didn't have orange juice or white milk (only chocolate was available). The room was nice, but the bathroom was not clean. The bathroom floor was dirty and the shower liner had mildew all over it. The beds were comfortable, but very high off the ground. Not sure we would return to this hotel when in the area.
OMG I Felt like I was in a 5 Star Hotel

From the moment my family and I arrived. We were treated like royality. The young lady upfront was so becoming and made sure that our stay was one to remember. Each time we walked out they spoke and asked if there was anything we needed. IF I am ever in Greenville I will stay here. The location was great, it was quiet, beautiful and the beds slept so awesome. Everything was super clean and all the proper precautions were taking due to Covid-19. If you are in greenville, SC and you need a nice, comfortable hotel to stay in here is one for you.
