A generally adequate option

- WiFi was tough to get into at first, but it finally worked. - Breakfast buffet was quite good: fresh hot scrambled eggs and sausage/bacon, various breads and cheeses, yogurts and fruit juices, chopped fruit mix, hot cups of coffee/cappucino/espresso, and assorted sandwich/deli meats. - Room lighting was rather sparse; 3 out of 5 bulbs blown in overhead chandelier; my request to have a large lamp fixed was ignored as it never worked during my 4-nite stay - Free parking in garage under hotel was convenient but very, very tight - Limited stock of in-room towels can be supplemented by towels found in accessible steam/sauna room on uppermost floor
Nice and clean room and a suitable breakfast.

In rooms on street side you don’t need a wakup call, specially in not Cold nights, as you hear everything happens on the street. The rooms are large and clean. In bathroom there is everything you need.
Better than expected

The reviews for this hotel made me very nervous, but my preferred hotels were booked and I didn't have a lot of choice. However, I was pleasantly surprised. Check-in was easy and the woman at the desk was friendly. My room was clean and spacious. Later in the evening, I went down to the desk to ask for an extra blanket. She apologized that should could not leave the desk, but would bring me one between 9 and 10 pm, and it was delivered as promised. Breakfast was not mind-blowing, but not bad. I mostly ate eggs and fruit, but they also had meat/cheese and pastries available, as well as some cereals and breads. Sure, as a spoiled American, I would have liked more pillows/blankets and more (and bigger) towels, but everything was perfectly adequate. I'd stay here again.
Good for short stays

Contrary to the other reviews, I had quite a nice experience at this hotel. They gave a free bicycle for hire for the time I stayed with them and the front office managers were very courteous and helpful. I was wary about the bedbugs that were mentioned here but I could certainly find none in my room. The faucet was leaking all through my stay despite the room service agents cleaning the room every day (which meant they did not bother to fix it.) I'll be very happy to stay here for my next visit to Walldorf.
Not allowed to check-in, no service at all

Purpose of travel: business, SAP workshop. No service at all. They would not even check us in the first night (the guy simply said "you know what time it is" and hung up) and we had to find another hotel in the middle of the night after trying to call him for half an hour only to get him to hang up on us and leave us there. After a night in the other hotel we checked in the other day. Not even an excuse from the woman at the desk, just a rude attitude. When checking out, we were confronted with the guy who did not let us in. He arrogantly said we had to call a second time after him hanging up. He also created some blurry story which changed constantly as we asked questions why he did not wanted us to check-in. He got quite angry and nervous that we were not satisfied with the way he handled it. In the end we even had to pay for the night he did not let us in and ended the conversation abruptly with "if you want hotel service, you should go to a hotel".. We never got an excuse, even something as simple as "sorry for the inconvenience" would have been a brigde to far for this guy. I understand that running a hotel can be hard and that it's not funny to get up in the middle of the night for paying guests. On the other hand, the hotel industry is a service industry. We had a 6-7 hours drive to get there, were also tired and just wanted to sleep. Get your business together and don't cheat paying guests.
