Beautiful area, interesting history and community. The Anderson Cottage is a part of that local history. Enjoyed the time spent talking with the young proprietors, who are part of the family who has owned the property for 150+ years. Comfortable, homey, laid back, lots of room and outdoor space, great porch, walking distance to nice restaurant and other things going on in the town of Warm Springs
Fall Fly Fishing Trip

We stayed at the Kitchen Cottage, which I discovered a few years back. Now, it is my go to residency for my annual fly fishing trip to Bath County and nearby environs. Its proximity to such prolific and iconic trout waters make the space a no brainer. The hosts Alma and Matt, and new addition Ava Jean, add to the ambiance and pleasure of the establishment. And they will bend over backwards to work with any and all dietary restrictions.
Charming house and hosts

Went to get away from the city and do some Alleghany hiking.i love to stay in historical places. Anderson Cottage in Warm Springs, VA built around 1790 certainly fits the bill. COVID 19 precautions are firmly in place. Breakfast is on the wrap around porch or brought to your door if preferred. The grounds allow for relaxation and the creek is definitely warm. Very good restaurants are close and the hiking opportunities are abundant. I would definitely go again. Hosts are accommodating though conversations were all outside about 10 feet apart.
Great place to stay!

Wow! What a great experience! Beautiful surroundings, friendly staff, and the natural spring fed creek in the back of the house was refreshing (and warm)! Definitely recommend Anderson Cottages for a weekend getaway. If you like the outdoors, there is a lot to do in the area. The house was historic and charming. Will definitely be back!!

A home away from home... you'll be hosted by two genuinely wonderful people, a married couple, who enhance the charm of the experience. Masterfully done! Professional, hospitable, accommodating, friendly, engaging and disarming. These lovely folks serve breakfast outside on the spacious wrap-around porch. Homemade bread, apple+bacon pancakes and strawberry+banana French toast, among other dazzling creations. Highly impressed!
The setting is serene. You'll be situated along a creek flowing from a nearby natural hot spring, so the water is warm. Bring a swimming suit. They have chairs set up and a firepit. The house has a 100-year family story to tell .. ask the lady of the house about it. The room has the perfect old school cottage decor, replete with antique books, paintings and furniture. A throwback to simpler times. The perfect weekend retreat.
Luckily, you'll also be a short walk from the Waterwheel restaurant, which has an amazing menu and ambience. There are also great hiking trails nearby, which you can only find by asking around. Your hosts will offer this information upon arrival. It's a pandemic and people are getting outside more than ever, yet the natural beauty was fairly bereft of travelers. It felt like the entire weekend was a dream. Ascending to the stunning view atop Flag Rock or wading in the water of the Jackson River, you'll find plenty of peace. Historical. Explorable. Adorable. Book it.
