Personal Touch Missing

We have been coming to this hotel for years, sometimes 2 or 3 times per year, and as rewards members, we were always greeted by management with the warmness and enthusiasm like that of an old friend. Moreover, we would always be offered a little bag of goodies, as well as soda and water. On our last visit two months ago, we thought it was a fluke that we were only offered water, and we didn't see our friendly manager. It wasn't. On this most recent visit, again water and no friendly face. We finally asked if ownership had changed or management, and the young girl behind the desk stated they had a new management team. It may seem like a little thing, but it makes all the difference in the world, especially when there are several other chain hotels in the area at similar price points.
False advertising!! Ripped off!!
Reviewed 31 December, 2019
Don't stay at this rip off hotel! Things advertised are not available at hotel. Soon check in we were told to come down and enjoy adult spirits at 50¢ a can, plus wine and too shelf mix drinks between the times of 7-9pm. We enjoyed the pool for a time. Ordered pizza. At 7:20 I went to get us a beverage. Girl at front desk told us, they felt there wasn't many people here so they sent the bartender home. No adult beverages. Btw.. it's new year's Eve!!! I couldn't even buy a bottle of champagne. Not even a bottle of wine. I booked this place so is adults could enjoy beverages and not go out. Very disappointed. We should have been time this at check in instead of telling us about happy hour.
The hotel has a new rule about giving us wrist band for the pool. We were told if our band rips or falls off we can get another one. It's just to keep out people who don't pay we were told. There was about 13 people in pool. We were the only ones with wrist bands on. Whatever. After getting out, I ended up slipping out of my band. Went to front desk and girl said they don't give out another band. I could not go back in pool.
I will never give this place another try. No one should stay here. Rooms are so small. Refrigerator was warm. Would not stay cold. The hair on the shower wall was so gross. We could not take a shower.
Best Holiday Inn

Stayed here for a recent business trip. This is by far one of the best Holiday Inns I have ever stayed in. The rooms are very clean, the staff is very friendly and the weekday happy hour is unbeatable. Highly recommend staying here if in the area.
Well worth the stay

I usually stay at another Holiday Inn on the other side of Youngstown but this was well worth the trip. The room was clean and great location. Pool and spa was a great touch with the small patio. The customer service is what sets this hotel above the rest.

My wife and I were in town for her 50th class reunion, and decided to stay at this hotel, because it was close to both venues, the Friday meet and greet and the dinner the following evening. We greeted by a very professional desk personnel, the room was spacious and very clean. Plenty of breakfast choices and sitting, unfortunately it was a little to chilly to sit outside on the beautiful patio we loved the waterfall, we were able to sit by the window and still enjoyed it. The only thing that I would like to see is the outside entrance to be automatic, it would just make it a little easier when using the luggage carts. But overall it was a fantastic stay, I would highly recommend this property and will definitely stay there again when in the area.
