Unsightly and in disrepair

This room is not fit for occupancy. Sadly, when we checked into a queen one-bedroom suite the condition of the room was unsightly and in disrepair. A four foot section of the ceiling plaster was falling apart onto the bed. The mirror frame was broken and missing large pieces. The walls had black gouges. The A/C unit was moldy. The towels had holes. No soap. The kitchen and bathroom cabinetry was worn, scuffed, distressed.
DANNY (Front Desk) was the best part of this 10 day visit! GIve him a RAISE!!!!!!

I am in the hospitality business myself for the last 25 years. My husband and I own several Marriott Timeshares and we always stay at the Marriott, whichever hotel level is in our area that meets our needs at any tier. We are always happy. However, this hotel has lots of stuff wrong in the rooms...our sliding closet doors are broken and fell off twice,my husband tried to put them on track but they still are funky. The pots and pans are weird size (only two in room and still had food in them when we first arrived. We made a reservation staying for ten days and expected like all the other residence inns to have a stove. There was no stove. That was a big disappointment and surprise because it is the reason we wanted to stay here. We have a handicap child and wanted to "eat in healthy" however our cooking was very limited. The drawers in the kitchen are broken and literally falling apart. We called the engineer the first night to fix and report that. Also the bathroom sink drains very slow......they looked at that and fixed it for the moment and then it clogged up again. There were multiple spiders on the floor I felt bad killing but didn't want to wake up with spider bites. in the middle of the night. We never had maid service but did request items from the maid which were given to us immediately when we saw them. I can't say much for the young dark haired woman at the front desk (it would be nice to hear a "hello" or "welcome" or "smile"...that never came from her lips...however the shining brightness of this hotel stay was the good looking young dark haired boy named. Danny!!!! He was a cheerful front desk young guy and made you feel welcomed and "heard"....he was extremely helpful), kind, and professional. He restored my faith in the youth of hospitality and if the MANAGER is listening please give Danny a raise or at least a "pat on the back" for making this old broad happy. On the last night I bought a bottle of wine to unwind and we didn't even have a wine opener in the room (all cooking utensils were absent but we did request a few during our stay.. ON the last night when I wanted to open a bottle of wine Danny went into other rooms checking for one he could find...which he did and brought it to us.....He was also helpful on an earlier night at giving us what we needed to refill as in toilet paper etc. Had to ask for soaps and sponges to wash dishes etc, as not even a sponge scrubber for dishes was left in the room at check in. Like I said, we are in the hospitality business as well, so I wanted to immediately report these things since I recognize sometimes the management doesn't know unless someone reports them. I also like to recognize exceptional Staff when it is deserved and Danny helped end my trip with a favorable note and restoration in the future of this hotel. I know multiple people in the hotel kept saying...."Yeah, well the hotel is going to be remodeled in about a month"....blah, blah blah, that didn't help us.....but DANNY at the front desk went out of his way to make our stay great tonight.....and just want to let Marriott staff know. Sincerely, a lifer a Marriott!
Worst hotel ever

Dog hair everywhere! Front desk assistant general manager is racist and rude!! He look at you like he doesn’t understand what you saying. I don’t understand how he can be at front desk. They don’t take care of customers. NOT MARRIOTT STANDARD. Very disappointed.
Well run hotel in great location

My family rented two rooms at this hotel last month for 4 days. We do a lot of traveling and my husband is a Marriott Platinum member so we see a lot of hotels. This was one of the best mid price/moderate hotels we have stayed at in the last two years. The breakfast buffet was really well done ( lots of choices) and everything was well stocked and clean. Room (although not new) was clean and well appointed. Service when we requested more pillows was prompt. They honored our request to put the two rooms together. Pool and work out facilities were in good working order and again, were clean. Someone is paying attention at this place. Special recognition to Leroy Rutherford at the front desk. My daughter forgot the pillows she had brought from home and Leroy found them and brought them to Fed Ex for us. He even called me to alert me to the cost of the box and the shipping charge. This was way above and beyond in my book. So sincere thanks to Leroy and his team for great service. SWG
Nice hotel with spacious rooms

I travel to the Western suburbs of Chicago and try to find nice, but reasonably priced hotels. When I made reservations, the rate was very reasonable, but it appears prices may have risen. I did book through the Marriott website. I was surprised when I entered my room, when I actually had a studio apartment. I had a couch, queen sized bed, full size frig, microwave, stove top, dishwasher and I dining table, plus a desk. The room was nice, generally quiet and very clean. Continental breakfast was included and actually had some gluten free items. I did use the gym, which was small, but was stocked with quality life fitness equipment. Only odd thing about the hotel was that it had a single entry door instead of the typical double doors. I had easy access to I-88. Would I stay here again? Definitely, if the price is right.
