WARNING DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL

WARNING DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL The room was filthy, stains on the bed, used condom on the floor, smelled of smoke, damp & cold. There were rats running around the car park. The food was horrific & overpriced, the plates were dirty & so was our table. I have never in my life stayed at a worse hotel. The staff were both rude & unhelpful. If you paid me £500 to stay at this hotel i would refuse immediately. I would rather sleep in a cardboard box on the streets. What a dump !!!
The room was shameful, bed had dirt on the sheets , curtains falling down , so much , so bad , don’t know where to start

Never experienced anything like it , staff were helpful but the whole experience was shameful, shocking room , curtains falling down , bed had dirt in it , bogey’s under the pillow , no water in room , went to buy at the bar , was told none , a electric kettle , with 2 mugs , placed on a surface , no tray , a very old used plastic bag with 2 tea bags and a milk in it , absolutely shocking , I really have NO words , went to bar to get a coffee and liquor, staff had NO idea , served in a paper cup , disgusting coffee, liquor served in shameful glasses, I really do not know what to say with this whole experience, have taken pictures of all of the above , just totally shocked ,

Stayed here for one night arrived to check in about 16:45 no queue took about 5 mins. Room was a ground floor room a little bit dated but adequate. The rooms need a bit of TLC and modernising but for one night not a major issue. Not much to do at the hotel they had a little bit of entertainment on and we also did the spooky walk for halloween. Breakfast could be improved an apple, cereal bar and a pre wrapped croissant and a carton of juice .. ordered a fresher breakfast from the hotel pancakes which where lukewarm. Can’t fault the staff they did everything asked of them and where cheerful. Only real criticism would be the roof and walls are paper thin so you can hear all movement and running round all the time. Overall I would go back .. but not in a hurry
Avoid like the plague (or Covid)!

Well, where do I start? I booked this hotel by accident. Mea culpa. I booked at short notice because we needed a hotel in the area. I read a few reviews, it seemed OK for one night so I booked a room. Unfortunately I didn't read the full hotel description, doh! I hadn't realised the hotel was in Gulliver's Kingdom, a sort of very down market Disneyland. On arrival, car parking was a pain. For a start it was not at all obvious where the hotel was, signage is poor. The car park for the hotel is laid out in a most stupid way so that there is no through route. This necessitates a long reverse back to the entrance if it is full, down a narrow road, on a slope on a bend, be warned. If you struggle with reversing, park in the main car park. At reception the staff were quick and very helpful. They were the best part of the experience. The reception area itself was was scruffy, tired and had that smell... boiled cabbage and disinfectant. There was rubbish on the floor. A shop selling children's toys looked like a hurricane had passed through. The room was oh so tired. We were greeted by that smell again, the carpets are stained, the door to the balcony didn't shut properly, the bathroom fan made a constant grumbling noise, no bin in the main room, odd decoration, I could go on. There was no drinks tray, just a plastic bag with two tea bags and a couple of sachets of coffee. I mean, TWO teabags, really? There was no chair in the bedroom so my other half ended up doing her makeup kneeling on the floor in front of the mirror. The bed, I believe, was last used by members of the Spanish Inquisition, god it was uncomfortable! The heater didn't work properly, the thermostat was more of a binary switch; freeze or boil. Good points were that the bathroom was clean and the shower worked well. I do not understand how this hotel has had such good reviews. It was a huge disappointment. Given the choice again I would have opted to spend the night in the car and take a bath in the Mersey the following morning. And save £88.
