More about the hotel
Really good
The apartments are 2 mins from the nearest metro station and about 10-15 mins' walk from the Polish pottery shop, shopping centre, central station and other sights/things to do. If you need to save your feet it's definitely worth getting the metro to Nowt Swiat and walking to the old town, Chopin Museum, etc, from there.
Spacious and well located
Very good apartments not far from the old city- about 15 mins walk. Good facilities, modern and clean with a concierge desk at the entrance. Kitchenette was good and had all the basic facilities including a nespresso style coffee machine which was great. Restaurants and bars all near by.
excellent and accommodating
The apartment is clean modern and well equipped with all amenities. the administration was accommodating when i required early check in. It is situated near the Jewish Nozick synagogue making it very convenient for me
A Great Stay
We booked a superior one bedroom apartment here. We got a big lounge/kitchen/dining room with a TV, dishwasher, coffee machine, microwave, oven and hob; a decent sized bathroom with two wash basins, toilet, bath/shower and washing machine and a small bedroom with a king sized bed. There is plenty of storage space both in the bedroom and in the hall cupboard. The flat is very well situated being within walking distance of all the main tourist sites and there is a taxi rank only a couple of minutes walk away with a taxi to the old town costing less than 20 PLN to include the tip. When you first arrive at the apartment you have to pick the keys up from an office in a block of flats just across the road. The building where the office is situated is a communist 1950's building and looks it! When I went in there I wondered what on earth the flat would be like. I needn't have worried as the flats are in a much newer block across the road. The general state of cleanliness of the flat is good however there are some long term maintenance issues that need to be addressed - the washing machine is starting to smell, the sole plate of the iron needs cleaning, the drains on the balcony were totally blocked (we had torrential rain whilst we were In Warsaw and we had to clear the drains before we were able to go on the balcony). There are three clocks in the lounge: one on the cooker, one on the wall and one by the TV. Only one of these clocks told the correct time when we arrived. There is a light on the balcony but the bulb has failed and not been replaced. The water pressure in the shower is very good. We also found there to be plenty of hot water. There is a problem in the shower in that the bracket that holds the shower head is very slack so that the head is only useable in one position. The high water pressure means that this isn't a major problem. The flat is also generally well equipped coming with a full set of plates, bowls, etc, two sets of towels, spare pillows, dishwasher tablets, toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, etc. However there were only three mugs, three cups and five smaller cups. Glasses were similar: there were three goblets, two sets of three tumblers and ten (!) shot glasses. More mugs, cups and some bigger glasses would have been much appreciated. The Wifi signal is very good and we had no problem at all with streaming radio broadcasts. The only meal we ate in the flat was breakfast and that was only a bowl of cereal. I suspect that most occupants of the flat do similar however there were some bits of kitchen equipment lacking. There is only one pan and two frying pans which I don't think are sufficient and there is neither scissors nor any way of cutting bread provided. That said I paid 1562.40 PLN for four nights through Booking.com. I think this was very reasonable and would quite happily stay here again if I come to Warsaw. (Another reason for staying here is that one of my favourite restaurants, Strefa, is only about a two minute walk away) If I return to Warsaw then I would be quite happy to stay here again.
Closed structure
About two months ago, I reserved an apartment for five people in “Main Street apartments, Atelier residence, Warsaw” Only three days before my arriving in Warsaw, someone from “Main Street Apartments” contacted me and told me that the apartments rental activity was ceased, so it wasn’t possible to keep my reservation and they were forced to delete it. Clearly, this force me to find an alternative solution and this have been quite challenging (and more expensive), as during that weekend there was Coldplay concert in Warsaw, so free availability of hotel rooms and apartments was very limited. But the very annoying thing has been realize that “Main Street Apartments” was still giving the possibility to book apartments, for coming weeks and months, through very well known search engines. This means that the activity has never closed and what they told me has been completely invented!! Please be careful if it happens to book with this not trustworthy agency.
