Very clean and helpful staff
I’ve never been to DC but glad we stayed here to drop off daughter for her internship . The rooms are very clean and well kept. I would definitely agree with other reviewers that the staff are very friendly. Glen at the front desk was so helpful from the time we walked in the door. Though he was the only one that seems to be working at the desk during his shift, he checked us in, gave us dining tips and even brought us waters. One morning when he was checking guests in and out, he was also making coffee, getting the breakfasts to go and with a good attitude. His positive and helpful attitude is an asset to the hotel. I would have given 5 stars but the heater in the room would get intermittently loud. Great location for walking to Capitol and monuments.
Extremely attentive staff
Stay there last week; we were extremely pleased by the friendliness of all the staff.. From the moment we walked into the lobby we were meet by staff that were always going the extra step to be helpful. The night desk attendant, Christopher, was on the ball bringing us extra coffee and towels and always with a smile. In the morning, my wife and I went down to get our to-go breakfasts. As we stepped out of the elevator we realized that we forgot our masks. As we were going back to the elevator to retrieve our mask, Maria who was distributing breakfast, observed what we were doing and called out for us to wait. She quickly ran to the front desk to get two masks so that we didn’t have to wait for our coffee. She was truly an attentive staff member. We got the valet package, which was well worth it.
Pros and Cons
Small rooms but sufficient for passing through DC. Air conditioning was quiet and hotel is very well located near White House and monuments. Staff were not overly friendly. Clean and safe. Valet parking only at $50/night. We were lucky and found street parking for the night but had to be up by 7:00am to move the car. Street parking is tricky in DC. We toured the city all day so parked in a nearby parking garage all day for $20. By doing that we saved about $30 in hotel parking fees. Decent breakfast available. Hotel was very clean.
Very nice stay
My family and I stayed at the Hampton Inn while in DC for the MLK Anniversary March. The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. The hotel was clean and well maintained. It was very secure and you needed your key to enter the hotel and get to your floor. The breakfast was grab and go and the pool is closed because of COVID. Excellent location if you want to walk to site see or get to Union Station to catch the train. I only took off a star because the AC was broken in my first room, however they quickly moved me to a new room.
