Great hotel with breakfast and nice rooms

I had a great stay at this hotel. The staff was nice; the room was very clean and spacious; and there was a nice hot breakfast. I got a call from the staff too that they found my wallet which I thought was great as it shows the honesty and integrity of the staff. I will stay here again.

What a great stay. All star and guests good at wearing masks. Adequately staffed and cordially attended to at check in. First rate hot breakfast beginning at 6 a.m. Hotel is newly refurbished and looks great on the Inside. This hotel is central to viewing wildlife in the Skagit Valley. Incredible experience.
Finally got west on Hwy 2, looking for the coast

My sister and I checked in at around 3:15pm and then went to go walk around. We got back to the hotel around 830pm put on our pj's and settled down for the night. Around 930pm we heard water dripping. I went into the bathroom and there was water rapidly dripping out of the light fixture in the bathroom! The water was almost to the door way. I started to throw towels down. The girl covering the night shift told us they had no more rooms to move us too. She would put 12000 point on my ihg rewards. Due to the water coming out of the electrical light fixture she recommended we change hotels. So at 930pm I called the best Western! We packed out stuff up and left and checked into the awesome and accommodating cotton tree inn. The next day when I spoke with the manager from the holiday inn express I could not believe the rude response!! He said they would not refund the one night because we chose to leave.. he said a pipe burst in the ceiling . But there was no leak over the bed.. what! Water coming out of a light fixture in the small bathroom means we couldn't use the bathroom he offered to pay for a night out of his own pocket.. I called corp who also declined to refund but offered 70000 points .. no way will I stay again at a holiday inn express
Our first trip in a year. -- and did they make us feel safe and happy.

This was our first outing in a year. We had the vaccine but were still apprehensive. Thankfully, this was the right hotel to stay in while we visited the Skagit Valley Wildlife. All staff and guests were masked. Nice big plastic screens between check in counter and customers. We had the elevator to ourselves on every trip to the third floor. We filled out our orders for hot breakfast each evening. In the morning we went to the breakfast area and a woman behind a plastic divided dished up our order to go. The breakfast of eggs and meat were large and tasty. Thanks for making our first outing feel so safe and fun.
