Oh, yes! Stay here!

This is a beautifully restored old hotel right in the heart of downtown. Great ambience and spotlessly clean! Lots to do within walking distance. We so enjoyed our stay - well worth the climb of 50+ stairs to our room! We’d visited in November, so it was very quiet both in the hotel and downtown.
A wonderful comfortable place to stay

The rooms are excellent, beds are very comfortable, very pet friendly they provide a blanket and even bowls for your pet which I thought was awesome, nicely equipped kitchen, they think of just about everything to make your stay very comfortable. No elevator since it's a very charming old building but very beautiful. The tub was super deep and very comfortable, don't see that in allot of hotels anymore. We will definitely stay here again and again, definitely worth staying here only thing it's not on the water but lots of shops nearby and the water isn't faraway
Historic Hotel with Charm and Character/No Elevator

My husband and I spent 2 nights here on the 3rd floor in the "Simone" room, considered an "apartment". The entire historic building has been furnished with Victorian charm...antique furniture, pictures, rugs, etc. The lobby is on the main floor, but all of the rooms are on the 2nd and 3rd floors and there is no elevator. We knew that ahead of time, but didn't realize how many stairs there would be due to the very tall ceilings. Our room faced the back of the building and a hillside and was relatively quiet. It had a small living area with kitchen, decent sized bathroom with a tub/shower but almost no counter space and very poor lighting. The separate bedroom had a full closet, 2 dressers and a comfortable king bed. We had plenty of room to spread out, and the apartment was clean, but some of the furniture was not very comfortable due to being old to fit the decor. The kitchen had a small stove, fridge, and cabinets with limited glasses, dishes and cookware. The tv and wifi worked fine, and there is no telephone in the room. There's a pizza restaurant on the lower level of the hotel and our room smelled of garlic/pizza much of the time. Overall the hotel met our needs and we enjoyed how the entire place was decked out with Victorian ambiance. There are even library sitting areas on each floor for guests. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We also liked the downtown location where we could walk to the waterfront, shops and restaurants. Parking was available behind and next to the building. When in Pt. Townsend again we would stay elsewhere primarily because of the lack of an elevator, but would recommend to anyone staying here that you ask for a 2nd floor room and one facing the waterfront for a better view. And pack light!
Charming, well maintained, with a LOT of stairs

With only one night in Port Townsend we chose to stay at the centrally located Palace Hotel. Our room was lovely - one bedroom, full kitchen, beautiful decor. But it was on the third floor. We were well aware there was no elevator, but did in fact struggle to get our bags up the long stairs to our room. Be forewarned that some of the rooms (like ours) have a loft bedroom. Very attractive, but challenging to descend the circular stair in the dark.
The Palace is our favorite PT accommodations

The Palace scores 5 out of 5 for cleanliness/nostalgia of the hotel, consistently pleasant and accommodating Staff, and hassle-free of check-in/out. It is always fun to explore the hotel; guests can peak across velvet ropes into rooms before the other guests arrive and view the individuality of each room (named after the Palace’s ladies). The Palace is my favorite hotel because of its charm, character, and heater-year ambiance.
