Dirtiest hotel in Waxahatchie. Needed a complete disinfectant job desperately, Dog hair all over chair and bathroom floor. Pungent musty smell Mildrew and stains on shower curtain. Management was of NO help. 🚫Avoid this dump at all cost ❌

We arrived a little before official check-in time, but we could check in anyway. The front desk staff was amicable and helpful. Upon making our way to our room, it had not been cleaned well before our arrival. My wife called the front desk, and they were very nice about it. We were given another room, clean, and the air conditioning was set to a comfortable temperature. The breakfast was good, but the juice machine was not functioning correctly. The temperature in the breakfast area was hot and not very comfortable while eating.

We arrived walked in and were quickly checked in. Got to our room and it was clean, cool and comfortable. The beds were great and as usual a selection of pillows for neck support and it was nice and quiet. If we ever have the need to stay in Waxahachie again we will be back.

Overcharged and Horrible Service

I booked a stay for July 3rd checking out the morning of the fourth. I purchased a room online beforehand on Holiday Inn's website, the king suite. My wife and I were going to Waxahachie for a wedding so we decided to make a weekend out of it, the first one we had without our son since he was born. Upon arriving at the hotel, we were given a room key. When we stepped out of the elevator onto the 3rd floor, we saw what looked like a floor under construction. Sheetrock was bare and covered in what seemed to be graffiti, and the floors were very dirty. When we opened the door we saw that was not the room we booked. We walked into a small room with 2 full size beds. We immediately went down to explain to the young asian man working the desk that we had the incorrect room. His response was "I show on my end you booked the 2 bed room?". I showed my email confirmation for a king suite. Then his story turned into "Well my manager downgraded your room.". I asked why we would've been downgraded without being told. He had no response. I had to argue for a reduced fee since we didn't receive the room we wanted. Clerk at the front said $150 was the lowest he could go. At this point we are almost late for the wedding so we run upstairs and change clothes. When we come back and finally have time to look at the room, it was disgusting. Bugs and small rocks around the floor corners. The sink handle is broken and comes completely off as soon as you lift up. And there was a nasty brown stained rag covering up the shower head. To top it all of I checked my bank account to find that I was charged MORE than the king suite. $210 to be exact. At this point I can not stay here. We walk to the front desk and let the young asian clerk working know that I will need my money back since they could not provide me my room, and that they charged me for MORE than I would have paid if I had received the King Suite I wanted. I was told very sternly there are no refunds. I asked him to call his manager that downgraded me so that I may speak with her. His response was "she is eating dinner with her family, I cant interrupt her". Okay so I asked for her name so that I can contact her. Clerks response was "Well I don't know what manager downgraded you, we have a bunch of them.". That doesn't add up to me...I ask him at this point if he has a GM. I had to argue with him to contact his GM. His only response every time was "It wont matter if you get a hold of my manager or GM, they will agree with me you don't get your money back.". Who treats guests like that? After much back and forth He said he would try and contact them. He disappeared the the back room for 5 minutes (not certain he called) and came back saying they wont answer. I told him if I am unable to get my money back through them I will have to unfortunately have my bank issue a charge back. Again, his response was "Wont matter. My managers will force it back through." Not sure the legalities of that but what a rude thing to say back to someone who is already having a less than pleasing night. I left my contact info with the clerk and was told he will have manager/GM call me Monday July 5 upon their return to work. My wife and I leave and I call the corporate number just in case. The guest relations team files a case (#10493338893) and I was told the manager or GM of the location will contact me withing 48 hours and there is nothing the corporate team can do about my overcharge. I wait until Tuesday, no call. I call the corporate number again and sit on hold for 2 hours without an answer. I then submit a form requesting information. Nothing. Thursday and Friday I call and sit on hold for 1 1/2 hours each with nobody picking up. On Monday 12 July I call my banks claims dept who are exceptionally kind and helpful getting the charge back process done. To date I have had no contact back from Holiday Inn. I will never return to another Holiday Inn and will tell everyone I know to avoid them as well.

Older hotel but some nice features

I was so tired when I checked into this hotel and the person at the desk was so friendly that it just lifted my spirits. They also had some candy bars and popcorn snacks that were free and so appreciated! Though it seems to be an older hotel, my room was very clean. I like the bath soap too/smell refreshing and makes a nice lather. Good Bath & Body Works lotion too. Breakfast was average but, hey, it was free.
