Weekend stay
Ive stayed here before visiting my mother, this time around was no different. Very nice hotel, non smoking throughout. Room and amenities are very nice. Beds are comfortable. Breakfast though is a diner nextdoor in which you do get a voucher.
If you like bugs, old beds, outdated utilities, this place is for you.
Stayed here three nights in 9/19. First of all, the room was bug infested with 'no see ems', crickets, and one dragonfly......yes, dragonfly. Second, I had a single room, which I'm guessing few people ask for these days, but as my work really only requires a place where I can take a shower (in fact this visit I could only use the bed two nights out of three), the bed doesn't mean much to me. Also, I can sleep anywhere. Regardless, this bed must have come over on the Mayflower, as the mattress was seriously lumpy, and the box springs sounded like dueling banjos. I travel a great deal, and have given mostly good reviews, but this place should be avoided. Now they were extremely apologetic when I checked out, and said I should have said something the first day, but I spend so little time in the room when I am out on a job, its just not worth the time, and when I can use the room, I'm so tired I don't want the hassle of changing rooms. In this case, I would have had to go across the street to the office to complain. And unfortunately, just as any older hotel, plug-ins are not very accessible. If you are on call as I am while out and about, you charge your cell phone at night, and it is close to your bed. Here, that can be done, but your phone will have to be on the floor, and you have to get out of bed to find it. The commode was so small (and low), it was difficult to use, and for a man, difficult and uncomfortable to 'fit in'. Additionally, the parking spaces are too narrow, and the TV is the size of a large computer monitor. The frig and the microwave did work! Bottom line, there were dead bugs on the lavatory counter when I got there, and more when I left, and not particularly usable for anything, but if you really like nature and like crickets in your room, this place is for you!!!
Best in town
Not perfect, very good. Definitely the best in town. No motel breakfast, but get a voucher for diner next door, it is fair. Close to major roads, easy access but no truck parking on site. Staff was very friendly and eager to serve.
Great place
We stayed here 2 nights. In town for family anniversary celebration . Found a deal for 2 nights at Baymont on their website! Our stay was great, friendly staff, coupons for breakfast at Penny’s Diner, which is in parking lot. Nice! Food was what you would except in a hometown diner. Good food. We ate most meals there. Did have Chinese food at family celebration from a place in town and it was good food too! We were very pleased with room darkening curtains! Beds were very comfortable! Thank you!
High priced for what you get
Best thing I can say: clean. Very plain property. Not very welcoming lobby- no food or coffee in lobby. Breakfast is in form of coupon for neighboring diner- mediocre food. Not family friendly. Can't believe this is a Wyndham property. Only reason to stay is there is no alternative. This place is proof that competition is a good thing. Without it, these people have no reason to improve or lower price to be commensurate with propert.
