DISGUSTING
this is the grossest hotel i've ever been in.. not worth your money. not worth even if the price was lower. just like everyone else mentioned horrible chemical smell. made me very concerned for my baby. we were just passing thru & decided to stay one night due to us driving to colorado. the floor is literally sticky i had to leave socks on. i've never felt so disgusted or uncomfortable in a hotel before until now. it makes your skin crawl with how disgusting it is. the fridge has residue all over, the bedding has stains on it, the window has no screen, the sink clogs, i could go on. absolutely disgusting.
Whatever you do, stay away from this place.
While driving from Colorado to California, we were forced to stay here when we realized we are too tired to make it to the next destination. Oddly, in the midst of Covid every hotel in town was booked - Including the 3 very large casinos. The fact that this was the only hotel with a vacancy was certainly our first warning that this wasn't going to be a good night. Here is the short list of what to expect: The outside door doesn't lock and wouldn't even close without force. Looked like it had been kicked more than a few times. There were people milling around the parking lot and this lack of security felt unsafe. The room had the same strong chemical smell that was mentioned by another reviewer. My eyes burned and I felt concerned over what we were breathing in all night. The bathroom sink wouldn't drain well and small insects (fleas?) were leaping out of the water that pooled there. This was a 1st floor room that had a sliding glass door looking out into a courtyard. given the lack of security, this was a serious concern. After getting in bed, my partner began itching immediately. She and I ended up sleeping in the clothes that we wore that day so that we would contact as little of the bed as possible. I barely slept 4 hours and woke continually with the feeling that bugs were crawling on me.
Just disgusting
The check-in attendant was friendly, but it went downhill from there. The carpets in the hallway were stained and filthy. The door to the room clearly had had someone try to bust in, and was filthy as well. The room either hadn't been cleaned or had been cleaned very poorly. Toothpaste in the sink, hair in the tub and on the toilet. Stains on the bed linens. There was no refrigerator in the room, though clearly a place where one should have been. Worst of all there was a strong chemical smell in the room. Was it covering up another odor or stain somewhere? Hard to tell. After 20 minutes, my eyes were burning and watering. I have never had this happen before in my life. I asked the attendant to show us a couple other rooms, which he did. Both had the same smell. I informed him we were leaving. He was kind enough to refund the points to my account. Quailty Inn should look into this hotel and remove its branding. It is a disservice to its generally good budget hotel name.
Low quality and uncaring
Arrived at 4:30 am, phoned ahead of time. We were exhausted. I convinced nice young lady to put us in til the following am as we deserved our 20 hours just in case though we most likely would leave when we wake as the pool was being worked on anyway. The outside door to hallway was unlocked and ajar(at 4:30 am real safe). The window in room was open(real safe) and the television on when we arrived in room. Asked for King bed, it was 2 smaller beds, that sunk like hammocks. The shower was not properly hot, there were soap stains on the bathroom tile. I tried to call front desk, did not pick up. There were notes that you would be charged for towels if stolen, fair enough. We checked out about 1:30 the next day. I did not count towels, too tired. I handed the owner the keys, forgot to get paperwork, my credit card bill said $134 instead of $67 I was promised. I called when I saw this, he sent me the bill, did not address that he charged for the extra night showed me checking out at 7:30 am the following day(which I told was ok), he said the extra charge was that I took towels, I did not take. He said he would not refund and to take it up with my credit card company. So I started the dispute process with credit card company. I did not take the towels. So besides that he is trying to charge a whole nights rate for so called missing towels because his employee did the right thing. Don't stay here. Not worth the trouble. Choice hotels should be ashamed of this place. I am a level headed reasonable person who generally doesn't write reviews.
Ugh!
Price is low today due to Covid-19 restrictions. No front desk after 10pm so you must check in before then. Be sure to check your room out before they leave. First room they gave me had a half inch of water on the floor. I didn't realize it until I heard the spish splash sounds it mode under my shoes. I don't like the fact that they run a photo copy of your credit card "for incidentals". No pool, no breakfast, no casinos open nearby. Price could be $20 cheaper and still not be a bargain, but they are doing what they can to stay open.
