A friendly revisit

We stayed for the Town's Sim-Ju festival when fairground rides stalls and wagons occupy many of the town's streets. Nevertheless, we were cocooned from the noise outside in this warm, welcoming and very friendly hotel. May well stay there again.
lovely clean hotel

friendly staff, great room rates, cold drinks and coffee and snacks available from mini bar on the 2nd floor included in your hotel room rate. in a lovely part of town within 300 meters of the market square restaurants and shopping. if you are prepared to pay £10 per head for breakfast its worth it because its a buffet with a wide choice. cost of parking might put people of at around £7 per night but to us it was worth it.

Room was clean (as you can expect in Germany) and quiet, waking up with sound of singing birds was great. The hotel has a very good restaurant with plenty of choice. All the staff - from reception to restaurant and breakfast staff - all friendly, professional, attentive : compliments !

If you are in Bergkamen go there.
Great Hotel - Tons of Amenities

Okay, where to start. First off, this hotel is amazing and is truly more of a hotel than the guesthouses style hotels that you can typically find in Germany.
As an international business traveler who often stays 2-3 weeks in a hotel abroad, Am Kloster offers a lot of features that are great. First, the breakfast is very good, with a solid range of options: eggs, bacon, meats, cheeses, breads, spreads, yogurt, granola, etc and goes for 6:30-10:30. Additionally, the room has a little mini frig that is restocked daily with free goodies that is included in the room fee. You get 2 beers, 2 waters, an apple drink, a coke, and 2 snacks each day!
The internet is very good and mostly consistent. There were a few occasions when it got weak, but it was very rare. The room is quite spacious, and from what I understand, the rooms on the first floor might be slightly larger and the beds are a bit bigger. Each room has a door that opens up to the outside so you can get some fresh air. The rooms don't have AC, but they do have a wall mounted furnace/space heater that is typical in Europe.
Overall, the staff is extremely friendly, helpful and flexible. I'll be coming back again in May and staying here again.
