More about the hotel
small organic farm
If you're booked at Sheridan resort or via the package tour from Klook (with hundred caves), you can tour this organic farm. We arrived past 12 after our caving activity at Barangay Tagabinet - Hundred Caves (30 minutes away) and was told that they were not informed that they had guests on that day and that there was no lunch buffet available. We were tired and hungry and were also quite pressed for time and needed to head back to the city before 3pm. Fortunately, they were able to coordinate with the resort to accommodate us for the lunch buffet there instead of at the farm. While waiting for them to coordinate it, the farm manager showed us around for a little tour. It was my first time seeing black rice which they grow organically. They also had some fruit trees, horses, chickens, ducks, geese, pigeons, turkeys, and ostriches. He also showed us how they do organic composting using African night crawler worms. A friend of ours wanted to try archery (can't remember if it was PHp 200 or 400 for 10 arrows). Quiet and relaxing place, especially with the swings under the tree. The quick tour took 30 minutes before we hopped on the van again and proceeded to Sheridan Resort for our lunch.
Relaxing Culture enriching experience
If your looking at getting away from the resort for a nice relaxing stroll with some added local culture, insight in local farming, and a little animal one on one than take the opportunity to visit this farm. We were lucky enough to be toured around by the farm manager so we got a few extras plus we were the only ones on the tour so it was extremely peaceful and personal. We got to feed the ostrich, ducks, fish, and turkeys. Then We had a great lunch made up of all the items that are organically grown on the farm after the tour was done. It was delicious and very authentic coupled with a great view of the land! Our ride back to the resort was late so we strolled around for a bit on our own but then the manager and regular tour guide who was also a very approachable and knowledgeable personality asked if we would like to partake in some archery while we waited. Both the wife and I agreed and had a great time playing the two gentlemen in a game of closest to the bullseyes. It was a great way to kill an afternoon and gain some cultural experience with some very friendly locals. I highly recommend the visit for a leisurely afternoon!
