Clean, good shower, hot breakfast
We stayed on two separate nights on our way through the area in September 2020 amid the pandemic so were naturally concerned with the cleanliness of the facility. But there were hand sanitizers around the lobby and breakfast area, and our room appeared clean. They also left 2 single-use sanitizing wipes in the room for cleaning the TV remote. Hotel looks relatively new, like maybe 1 - 2 years old. Both our rooms looked just as pictured - coffee maker, mini fridge, and a microwave. Beds were comfortable and beautiful bathroom with walk-in shower which also has good shower pressure. Clean heated pool and hot tub were opened which we did use one night. Although not the normal continental breakfast we were used to before the pandemic, they still provided lots of items - yogurt, cereal, apple, banana, sausage/turkey breakfast sandwiches and wraps that you could heat up with the microwave there. Tea, coffee, and juice from the dispenser. We will come back again if we are in the area next time.
Several safety and cleanliness concerns
We were checked in by a gentleman ( I think he was the manager ) and everything was top notch until he left and shift changed. We went to the business center, which is part of the lobby and were astonished by what we saw. Front desk lady and a gentleman who appeared to be visiting her were sitting by the computer and chatting. Neither of them had masks, cigarette was laying on the computer desk. Box of pizza was sitting at the check - in desk. It was a disaster. Marriott is supposed to be all non - smoking unless it's a designated area and we love non - smoking policy, since we both don't smoke. After seeing us, they left. Lady went back to the front desk and gentleman picked up his cigarette and left as well. Also the front desk lady's top partially exposed her cleavage when she would lean forward or move. I asked her if the manager is in, because I wanted to discuss this mess in a lobby, especially smoking situation. She told me "no" without saying when they are expecting him. We will not stay at this Fairfield Inn and suites Wichta East ever again, neither would recommend. All the hand sanitizers dispensers that we were trying to use throughout the hotel were empty. But we always carry our own hand sanitizer, so we were okay.
Great stay
My son and I stayed one night while in town for a swim meet. Nice room, comfortable bed with soft pillows and a great free breakfast. The staff was really friendly and gave each if the kids a treat bag with various snacks and a bottle of water, came in very handy for the meet. I would definitely recommend.
Enjoyed our Stay
We headed to Wichita to go to a concert, as well as shop at Costco... this was a perfect match. Nice stay, no complaints, and great for the price. Breakfast is always a nice plus, swimming pool and jacuzzi inside, a gym for those that work out (not me this trip)
Holiday stay
This Hotel is a hidden gem. It is very clean comfortable has a pool and a hot tub. The breakfast is good lots to choose from. The rooms are well decorated. We checked in around 8pm there was only 1 person checking people in plus answering phones I think they need an extra person on the busiest shift because they had phones going people calling for supplies and person was only 1 so check in was a little slow. Everything else was great!
