More about the hotel
Clean and decent hotel,but....
This was the first time staying in this hotel. I am a Hilton honors member so I decided to book it and it’s fairly new hotel in the area. The rooms are very nice , but the walls are extremely thin. You can hear everything in the next room and people really are not very courteous to you. I had some women screaming next door on her phone, then a kid bouncing a ball next door on the other side. People slamming their doors etc. It’s really terrible and Hilton should put a PRINTED sign in EACH room stating they must be courteous to guests and keep quiet. My main complaint with this hotel is they wanted to charge me $4 for a bottle of water. Every hotel I have stayed in in the past leaves 2 fresh bottles of water upon checking in , which are bought at Costco. If you want another water you have to ask the front desk. It’s cheap to buy bulk water from Costco or Sam’s club This hotel has only “SMART” water and sells it for $4! That is terrible, especially when you are staying with them. I told her I was a silver member and she said sorry we only give to gold members free water and you can have it for $3. I told her to forget it-plus she was rude. I didn’t need smart water, just a bottle of water for the coffeemaker (the actual coffee was horrible in room, they need to use a Krupps maker instead with pods.) I may go back to holiday inn next time.
Good hotel-wish they had breakfast
This Hampton was much like most Hamptons I stay at. The staff was courteous, the room was good, and the bed was comfortable. I would definitely give it four starts if they had offered breakfast. To be fair, the Hilton app did note that they did not provide breakfast, so it was my fault that I did not notice it. I did ask the front desk clerk if the rule was a state rule, and her response was something to the effect of "I don't know. That's just what I was told." I have stayed at several other Hampton Inns during the pandemic and found that each had a different method, but all the others provided some sort of socially distanced breakfast to go. While a Hampton Inn breakfast is normally not something to get too excited about, it does take care of a need in the morning and can help speed up your trip. I would stay here again, but first check and make sure they were offering the normal amenities.
Crappy End to a Great Trip
On our way home to Missouri from Colorado, we stopped to have family photos taken in Wichita, KS and stayed at Hampton. We arrived late, checked in, parked in the closest space to the office under a light and left what we could in the car. Our car along with at least 2 others were broken into on your premises and we had over $1000 worth of items stolen from our car. The hotel not only has no cameras but have no security system whatsoever. The staff, police, and insurance were virtually no help at all. Upon inspecting the parking lot during the day time, there are signs posted but they are all pointed in the wrong direction for anyone parking next to the building or the first row. when we returned for the day, we checked with the front desk to see if there would be any extra patrols or anything due to the break-ins only to find that they were not even made aware of it by the day shift. I have been a Hilton Honors member for many years and stayed at many a Hampton but I can say with absolute certainty that this will be the last time I ever darken your door. Oh and the hand sanitizer smelled exactly like tequila and made me, my wife and son gag.
Rooms very clean and comfortable. Staff very courteous and welcoming!
I arrived mid-day on the weekend. The hotel was in a great location. It was close to a nice selection of restaurants, and not far from the highway. The staff were friendly and welcoming. I enjoyed a very comfortable and peaceful stay. I will plan on staying here again the next time I am needing a room in Wichita.
Great Stay!
My husband and I stayed for 1 night. The room was clean and smelled great. They have a "new to me" system with a sticker on the door to show after it was cleaned, no one has entered it. The staff was very friendly and helpful and was happy to offer directions anywhere, since Coronavirus has shut down their breakfast at this time. Thankfully, coffee is still a thing there 😋 Bed was comfortable. Manager is amazing! I cannot say enough great things about this hotel and will stay there again when we visit Wichita next!
