More about the hotel
Nice park, convenient to everything
We stayed here three nights while attending a granddaughter's softball tournament in town. It's close to all the attractions and lakes. Yeah, it's across the street from a truck stop, but we sleep with a fan on all night, so no problems. Spaces are roomy and level.
Ugh!
View of a noisy highway. View of a noisy truck stop. $65 cleaning fee and while it was clean inside for the most part, there were some things that needed a wash down like the vents with food caked in them and some spaces in the bathroom. Beds were awful and we’re frequent campers so we can usually tough it out but not for $135+ a night! Sofa-bed didn’t work right either and the toilet ran slow. Good location in relation to town and the GC but way too close to the freeway. Grounds were clean but someone took our fire pit which was a bummer. Wouldn’t stay again and wouldn’t recommend for families just based on lack of amenities and closeness to highway and truck stop.
Great place
Perfect for a family and pets. Our water did freeze, but only because we weren’t plugged in right. Staff was very apologetic and accommodating. It was fixed right away. Will definitely go back later. The dogs loved we could leave them when we went to the park and they didn’t have to sit in the car.
All the benefits of big RV without hassle of driving it
It was our first experience with RV and we all loved it. The idea, that we don't have to drive it but we can still use it, won our hearts. Clean, practically organised, well equipped, including internet and access to Netflix. Proximity to town with places to eat out. A lot of information about activity in the area. Actually we modified our schedule a bit, to spend a bit longer in our RV, as nobody wanted to get up and go, having that bit of luxury available.
Don't Go
We booked a weekend stay with Booking.com at the Grand Canyon RV Glamping in Williams, AZ in April 2019. The reservation was for 7-9 June 2019. Two days prior to arriving my wife booked the night of the 6th with Grand Canyon RV. We arrived there at 1600 on Thursday 6 June. On booking.com she reserved two campers one with 2 adults and two kids and the other with two adult’s three kids and three dogs. When you go on their website it has pictures of the camp ground showing trees all over and very nice patio style fire pits. When we arrived there it was just a dirt lot across from a truck stop. We were very disappointed in what we came to. My wife went inside of Grand Canyon to let them know that we were very upset and would not be staying. They advised us that they had already charged us for the whole booking plus an extra charge of $180 for pets. My wife asked them to refund and they told us NO. They said they had a no refund policy. 1st They had no right or authorization to charge us for the Booking.com potion. We called Booking.com and they said that we should not be charged because we booked through them, and that they also had a free pet policy that the RV place had giving them. Booking.com advised us to have them refund the unauthorized payment. 2nd They told us that the card on file would not be charged until we checked in, which we never did. When I asked for a full refund, again they told us there was a NO refund policy. I asked them about the refund policy on their paperwork, and they told me to leave the property before they called the Williams police. I again asked about the refund and they called the police and asked to get me trespassed. It is now 1730 and the Williams police show up. One officer talked to me and one went inside. The other officer came out talked to me and went back in. Again he came out and told me that the story the lady was telling him from Grand Canyon kept changing. Both officers are now telling me that I am getting ripped off by this place and that I needed to call my bank immediately to dispute the issue. This is when I called USAA and started the dispute. While on the phone the one officer went in and out a couple times talking to the camp ground. After getting off the phone with USAA the one officer told me that the camp ground was refunding $700, and that is all they could help me with. Through the whole process I was advised by the two police officers to stay there until I got it resolved with the bank. It was now 1830 and I have three kids and three dogs still inside the car. At this point the one officer gave me the attached paperwork and told us we were good on their end, but to call the BBB and the Camp Ground Association and let them know how we were getting treated. At no point we given a key, entered, or touched either RV that we were charged for. Our dogs never even left the car and they still charged us the night and pet fee for 3 days, which Booking.com said we should not be charged for.
