Great resort for our Williamsburg vacation!

Vacation village resorts are always consistently spacious, well-maintained and offer lots of amenities. The Colonies at Wiliamsburg goes above and beyond with massive indoor and outdoor swimming pools with water features and the largest hot tub we've ever seen. The setting is lovely with nice landscaping and privacy, yet is super convenient to everything.

Great place to stay to take in the beginning history of America. Close to Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown. Only an hour away from Virginia Beach to enjoy as well. A couple nice lighthouses and Fort Monroe (free tour ) were time well spent. The area has plenty of places to eat, shop and golf nearby. Enjoyed our stay and split four bedroom was great for traveling with friends.
Great central location, a regular spot for us to visit.

We've stayed at this location before and have always been very happy. Staff is friendly and efficient. Units are well appointed and location is central to "all things Williamsburg". Unit was clean and well cared for (only a couple of minor blips like the light over the stove was out, and one of the drawers on the master BR DVD player was jammed, but this did NOT impact our stay.) We also like that they have Pet Friendly units as we have a dog with Epilepsy that requires regular medication (we travel more easy knowing he is with us) and nice areas for pet walking with "potty" supplies and a receptacle readily available. A great resort for walking around - met quite of few others staying there on my trips around the big circle/loop.
Beautiful and convenient location (beware of the time share deal--but you do get freebies). Friendly staff.

I'm rating this 5 stars based on the value for my Interval getaway vacation. This place was convenient to so much. Beautiful location. A few hours to the Outer Banks one direction and a few hours to Monticello the other direction. So much history. Staff all very friendly. Checkin took less than three minutes (but then we visited the timeshare gal--more on that later). Mattresses were encased in a plastic linerand after no sleep for two nights, I requested they be removed and the staff immediately did it. We had a clogged bathroom sink and immediately the staff came to fix it. Extremely responsive to Maintenance concerns. Housekeeping and maintenance issues were written and given to front desk when we left. As others have stated, the washer/dryer combo is extremely noisy and sounds like a helicopter in the closet. The only non-stick frying pan is scraped (not safe) plus warped so spins around on the stove and eggs don't fry evenly. They're cheap lightweight pans. The beds were not the most comfortable I've ever slept on but then it's not the Westin. The sheets definitely are uncomfortable they're about 55/45 cotton/poly and very rough. Master shower is huge! Entire master bath is large. Interesting that there is a paper thin wall between master toilet closet and dining room so anyone at the table can hear all bathroom noises. Guest bath is very big as well. We had a 2/2 room and appreciated the kitchen with nice dishes and many utensils. Large table that we used to play cards every night. TVs are dated and on the small side compared to what modern units have. I think it's a 40" in the living room and 32" in bedrooms. They are not wifi compatible. Speaking of wifi, it was often "iffy". Overall, a very nice unit, friendly staff, beautiful grounds. The only thing that upset us was the untruthfulness about the timeshare presentation. We should know better but still.... "Cxxxx" told us we would be looking at a newly renovated one bedroom and then just completing a survey in exchange for several gifts. We anticipated it would be more than that. In fact, in talking to two other couples , they also were told that. It simply wasn't true. It was a time share presentation. We stuck to 90 min. We were offered a 4/4 lock-off for $69,900 then an EYO 4/4 for $41k then miraculously a re-sale 4/4 for $12k. Then we left and used the gifts for a breakfast for 4 and Colonial Williamsburg for two.
Location and Amenities are spot on

Location, location, location.... Great location, close to everything you need, Food Lion, Shell Gas, Bowling, Italian Restaurants, Shopping at Premium Outlets, 7-11 are all within a couple of minutes. The well appointed room has everything you can ask for, it was very clean, 2 great size bedrooms and bathrooms too. The TVs in the unit are a bit older but they work fine. We requested the 2nd floor unit as we thought it would be quieter and it was for at least 95% of the time of our stay. The only noise we heard was when the landscapers were working, the garbage pickup and when the occupants across the hall were leaving their unit to go home. Check in was easy, no fuss...have to pay a $30 charge. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, the grounds were nothing short of breathtaking. My complaints are that the frying pan in my room was warped, could not even fry an egg evenly as only part of the frying pan was touching the electric range. The tea kettle had a funny taste, thought it was the water but it turned out the tea kettle was rusted on the inside...disgusting. The last complaint is that the parking situation is tight there, not sure how many cars are allowed per room but we came back late one night and had to park elsewhere, not far but not in front of our unit. The front desk could've spread all the guests out a little further within the property so this doesn't occur. The beds were quite firm so I slept very well, over 8 hours a few days out of the week which is highly unusual for me so I was very grateful for that. All in all, I would gladly stay here again without hesitation.
