Waste of time

Do not be tricked!!! My family booked a weekend trip to Westgate this past weekend because we were thrilled about the indoor water park for our 3 and 2 year old. We drive 3 hours to the Westgate and checked in late at night around 7pm on a Friday. After checking in we were informed we were selected for VIP and if we experienced the 90 minute presentation about the hotel we would receive free tickets to the water park. We were resistant but we were informed that the water park fills up to full capacity fast but if we did the 90 minute presentation at 9 am we would be able to get in at 11 am without worry, which is when the water park opened. We wake up the next morning with our kids to view the presentation. The presentation was truly their way of trying to get us to buy a timeshare and took 4 AND A HALF HOURS! we tried to leave 3 TIMES and was told we wouldn’t get our water park tickets and they probably reached full capacity at this point. The people were EXTREMELY PUSHY and we informed them several times we DID NOT HAVE THE FUNDS TO BE APART OF THE TIMESHARE. After multiple meltdowns from my kids we finally walked out. The water park closed at 6 so we enjoyed what little time left we had at the park before we had to leave the next morning. I will NEVER return to the WESTGATE as the customer service and pushiness of the sales people was unreal. We were also at the very top of the hill (6000) building and we never saw the bus shuffle to assist us down the hill and had to drive everywhere within the resort. I highly recommend just going to the wilderness in the smokies!!!!

Rude Management

Reviewed 13 january, 2023

Ordered a pot and then waited 3 hours to find out that they had no one to bring it to me. We had to drive 3 hours to an event the next day and this caused us to lose 3 hours of sleep, thus we were very tired the next day. They never bothered to make it right. We found the management to be extremely rude and unpleasant. I would never buy at this location. Everything is fine until it isn't, then you see the true colors of these people. As with all timeshares, the fact that you are an owner doesn't mean that you are free from ongoing sales pitches. They will literally chew up and waste 3 hours of your time! You're on vacation, the last thing you want to do is to ride the golf cart to some location and another location where they set you up for the sales pitch that starts off as cookies and coffee. I told my wife as soon as we walked out the door, watch...they are going to try and sell us another timeshare. I was correct. And when you say No, they become nasty.

This is NOT A SPA

Reviewed 11 january, 2023

My -1 star review is solely for what they call “a spa” a cabin with 2 massage beds. SO DISAPPOINTED to say the least. I booked a couples massage and I was told by the booking clerk, Jennifer that she could not disclose the spa location due to security measures. Had she told me there is no spa, and their “spa”is under construction/remolding, I would have understood. And booked somewhere else. Their “spa” is a one bedroom cabin. THIS IS NOT A SPA!!! to mislead their customers and simply lie is unacceptable. I paid $323.17 for couples massage. The worst experience ever, place was not clean either. Also my masseuse ran out of time and left my last massage session uneven. Oh and just fyi; you must leave 20% gratuity or you can’t book your appointment! When asked to speak to Amber the manager, she simply didn’t care about our dissatisfaction. Amber you really should be honest with your customers and trained your staff to do the same. Do not waste your money or time

Great for the family, no complaints

Family of 5 stayed from Xmas to Newyears. We did not book direct and instead bought an owner listing from another website. We were worried based upon the other reviews and photos but did not experience anything bad. We arrived around 7pm, so no line for check in which went pretty quick. Check in process a bit odd for us due to immediately being passed to a conceirge. With the kids and long drive, we just wanted to check in and get to the room. Folllowed the concierge up the mountain and got to the 2br lockoff. Concierge tried to offer sales pitch, but we just politely declined and that was it. No big deal. Room was well furnished and everything was new like the photos online. We were in bldg 600, so cant speak for units on the way up. Bathrooms were large, full size fridge and plenty of room for us to have a semi private area with the kids having room to play. Beds seemed comfy. Nice large balcony looking at the mountains, though it was overlooking the parking lot too. Parking was crowded, but not that big of a deal. We did the waterpark 3 days and found it pretty decent. If you are not an owner or traveling on an owners account you do have to pay daily, so that may have changed our opinion. We were able to find a table whenever we went. Best time to go was the couple hrs before it closed- otherwise there was no room in the hottubs. Basic food available, expensive and pretty plain. Recommend eating elswhere and then coming to the waterpark. There are only a few spots to park by the waterpark so we had to circle and park away a few times. Centrally located between gburg and piegon forge so if you go in a less traveled week, youll find it to be in a nice area. During busy holiday weeks its a bit of a pain to get across the parkway near the resort. This would be a good option if you like to cook meals in, need space larger than just a hotel room, and want to be able to relax a bit. If we go back again we will make sure to rent from an owner again instead of booking direct. We didnt get to try the restaurant and didnt go to the bar either. Lobby looked nice and clean, etc.

We had a wonderful week! Blake Shelton's Ole Red is right in town! We didn't go to the water park, but I look forward to it next time! The suites have everything you need, laundry, kitchen, etc. Lovely views of the mountains! I recommend this resort to everyone!
