This hotel was excellent for the price. The room was large, it had plenty of places to work, the bed was comfortable, and there was more than enough light. The TV was a little small if you like a large one, but it was fine for us. There was a microwave, refrigerator, and a coffee maker in the room. The bathroom was modern and well appointed, and the lighting was excellent. The shower was a new walk-in. The location was perfect: close to I-81 and a plethora of stores. It was also walkable to a Chili’s across the parking lot. The only criticism is that there was what appeared to be a used towel under the sink in the bathroom when we got there. And a caveat with respect to the location of the room: definitely ask for a room that does not face Jubal Early Drive, since we could hear every noisy motorcycle, truck, and bad muffler. Otherwise, we would recommend it.
It was OK

This is the second time I've stayed there. The first time I was not impressed. I stayed there a second time because it was my only option. Hotel was fine. It was clean I guess, but the staff did not wear face coverings and the were signs posted that cleaning would be done only once a week for multiple nights stay. We were there only for 2 nights, so I didn't mind, but it made me wonder if our room was cleaned before we got there. I found used bar soap in the bathroom. I went to Walmart and bought Lysol to spray in the room . I am usually not picky, but I was with my young kids so I wanted to make sure they were going to be safe staying there. We did enjoy the pool and made good use of it. Overall the stay was fine. Yes, I would probably stay there again but this would not be my first choice.

Always have great service at this hotel. Jason was the manager checking me in, he was great. I had a problem with the AC in my room, he switched my room right away and even escorted me to the room to make sure everything was working before heading back down to the desk.

Our group stopped here on our way to Kentucky from Connecticut. The rooms were excellent as well as the staff. Everyone was so nice and accommodating. This was one of the best hotels I have stayed in. Amazing place to stay.

For many years the Wingate in Winchester was our “go-to” hotel when we traveled between Wilmington, NC and Upstate NY. It was always clean, comfortable and welcoming with a great breakfast. We have not stayed there in several years because of traveling a different route. However, we did by chance, travel the old route last week and decided to get a room for the night at the Wingate. There had been a wonderful gentleman who was always at the front desk when we arrived, who took great care of us. In fact, ten years ago, he arranged for rooms for overnight guests at our son’s wedding in Providence, RI making it possible for our guests to stay on one of the busiest weekends of the year - Memorial Day and Brown University Graduation. We were reminiscing about it in the car and said “I wonder if Gary will still be there”. We decided he wouldn’t be, but low and behold, Gary was there and he has been promoted to General Manager. He just happened to be there that night because the front desk person had called in sick. It was like coming home! Gary remembered us and it was joyful to see him. In addition, the hotel has had major upgrades to the rooms and the new bathrooms are wonderful with walk-in glass showers! You won’t be disappointed if you stay there - and if you happen to see Gary LaFollette, the General Manager, tell him Tom and Kathy send their regards.
