Boston stay

Reviewed 2 july, 2022

My brothers and I stayed here for four nights. We had two rooms and I had booked them ahead using a triple A discount. So I had a set rate of about $199 per night. On the fourth night at 1:30 in the morning I got the emailed receipt as we were leaving in the morning. We were charged $300 to $509 per night!!!! I just about had a heart attack. I threw on clothes and went to desk. The girl said she was the only one there and I would have to wait for manager in the morning. I said No I wanted This corrected. She said that I did not have a set rate and they are fully booked and that was what rooms were going for. I said I had a set rate and pulled up my confirming email with the rate. She looked at my email and corrected the bill. This put a bad spot on staying at this hotel. Otherwise the hotel is nice, it is a double hotel with Hampton on one side and Home2 on the other side. Home2 rate was higher. Breakfast is was good. We did use the laundry which worked out good. My room was on the sixth floor which was several hallways away from elevators (not exaggerating). The hotel is ideal to get to historic spots - Lexington. Concord and driving to Boston. Restaurant in front of hotel was great. There is a Chick-fil-a in the parking lot (I don’t do Chick fil a) .

Great location, breakfast ok, location shared with Homewood

Reviewed 27 june, 2022

I was in the area for some business meetings and stayed here for one night. The property shares the location with a Homewood, and this is reflected in the fact that they have a bar, with limited hours, but no restaurant. It's in a great location, with nice clean, bright rooms and everything worked fine. There are some local restaurants close by within walking distance which is always a bonus! The only problem I had during the stay was a bizarre interaction with one of the staff during breakfast. She was a more mature, skinny lady with blonde hair tied up in a ponytail. She was without doubt the rudest person I have ever met in a a hotel. I went to get a cup of coffee and the urn was empty. As this lady was walking by I mentioned to her that the coffee was out, and politely asked when she might be able to bring some more. Not an unreasonable request at breakfast time in a hotel.... She just stopped, stared at me and walked away without saying a single word. I assumed she hadn't heard me so as she walked back by, I again said something along the lines of "I don't know if you heard me last time, but your coffee is out and I was wondering if you had some more brewing?". Again the silent stare and she walked away without a word. A few minutes later she brought out a fresh urn. This was completely uncalled for and unprofessional. Is it too much for a member of staff to reply to you when you ask them something? This lady obviously has some issues and should not be working with customers with an attitude like this. It really did spoil the whole experience, which up to that point had been great.

Average Hampton - No complaints

Reviewed 10 june, 2022

Nice hotel. Nice room. Average breakfast area. Clean. No complaints. We were visiting Boston, which was approximately 10 miles away from downtown/Seaport area. We had a rental car. The ride back and forth was not difficult. Hotel had a nice exercise area and was kept clean.

Pretty good but too far away

Reviewed 1 june, 2022

It turns out that having a grandchild who has a birthday around the end of May makes it very difficult to book a hotel room unless you do it well in advance. :-/ We were in town visiting family in Somerville, and this was the closest we could get, what with all the college graduations. Next year we'll book in January! The hotel itself was clean and comfortable. I appreciated being able to choose my own room online since we were getting in late. The room was spacious and well maintained, with better bedside lighting than many hotels have. There was adequate drawer space and closet space for 2 of us. My husband was happy that he could turn the tv to face the bed rather than straight ahead at the sofa. The bed was soft for our taste, but we like a very hard mattress. The bedside stand had enough plugs, but no drawer. I much prefer to keep my rings and wallet beside me when I travel. I understand why moderately priced hotels use paper cups rather than glasses in the room, but I don't much like them. Same with the breakfast service-so much plastic in the trash. I prefer a room without any carpeting. It's not a deal breaker but it is a preference. The bathroom was clean and spacious, and the water pressure was pretty good for Boston. There was plenty of room for us to store our toiletries. I only ever have tea and toast for breakfast, with fresh fruit when it's available. I didn't see fruit until the last morning of our stay, but that doesn't mean it wasn't there. I just might have missed it. I like the water for my tea to be almost boiling, and this water was not that. I'm usually disappointed in the hot water temp at hotel buffets, though, and I can understand why guests carrying extremely hot water is a concern for hotels. My husband had oatmeal and yogurt, and that worked for him. The fitness room was spacious and well equipped. I didn't use the pool but it looked nice. Parking is free and plentiful. Staff were all friendly and helpful. We did not use housekeeping services and we have grown to prefer that option for short stays, but we always leave a tip for the person coming in to clean after we leave. If this place were in Somerville or Medford, I'd be more likely to return, but the distance makes it less convenient for us than if it were closer.

Nice spot

Reviewed 24 may, 2022

Good spot near eateries and some shopping, with close highway access near the hotel. The hotel is still new, and has a bar too! Nice grill out front if Sony wanted to partake it seemed to be first come first serve, with outdoor seating outside.
