Fantastic
Our son booked this hotel to celebrate his girlfriends 21st. The hotel couldn't have been any better. Stunning room great breakfast & fab service too. A cream tea with prosecco was served on arrival & the room was spotless. In these difficult times the staff couldn't have done any more to make their stay feel safe. The location is great & within walking distance of all the bars & restaurants in Woodstock. They plan to return thank you.
Comfortable, friendly break in characterful Coaching Inn
Had such a great weekend staying in an upgraded room. Parking, characterful historic ground floor rooms but unstuffy friendly welcome. Our room was lovely and with sofa, high ceilings and huge shower room we were very comfy. We faced the main road but no problems with noise. Bus stop to central Oxford right outside with frequent service but we drove as we wanted to visit a few different places. Due to Covid some safe measures in place with breakfast being booked the night before and picking a time to reduce traffic in the dining room. We felt very safe. The breakfasts were great.. Full one day, pancakes another day. Lots of local places to eat and drink.. Some way too busy for us in current climate but found a well distanced evening cafe for a good bargain Italian meal. The hotel had already rearranged our stay a few times due to the first lockdown.. In the end we squeaked in just before lockdown 2. So glad we did, and we will be back. The outstanding helpfulness and friendliness of the staff really stood out for us. Thank you.
Two night stay.
My wife and I wanted to visit Oxford but didn't want to take the car in to the city. The Marlborough Arms has a bus stop right outside the front door which service goes directly to Oxford. Inside the hotel all was comfortable, clean and well appointed. The cream tea and glass of Prosecco on arrival were also much ppreciated. Mostly we were appreciative of not only the professionalism of the staff but also of their friendliness. COVID masks and social distancing were, of course, observed, but could not hide the staff's welcoming attitude. The breakfast menu kept us happy too. All in all the hotel and its staff helped to make it a most enjoyable break. We would happily stay there anytime. Many thanks.
Lovely stay
We went on a two night secret escapes deal with B&B and cream tea with prosecco. Received a warm welcome from the young ladies running the place and that friendliness and helpfulness remained all the time we were there. Cream tea was delicious served by the fire in the bar area and breakfast was a real treat as well, the pancakes and fresh fruit in particular were amazing. Felt very Covid secure with a lot of thought given to cleanliness and hygiene. The hotel is a great location to explore the area and the car park is a bonus in a town with limited parking. We loved our stay with the only slight reservation being it was a bit noisy from the road and adjacent rooms but that would not stop us going back again.
Very comfortable stay.
We can echo earlier reviews. We had a most enjoyable stay, comfortable room, friendly helpful staff, well organised and excellent breakfast. Location ideal for exploring Woodstock, Blenheim Palace and Park and also Oxford.
