Great services from everyone and good location
Opinión escrita el 17 de mayo de 2021
First time visiting Xian and it has always been on my bucketlist due to its history and wonders. Chose Hualuxe due to its location and indeed is in the a very convenient location, and more than that, the services are impeccable from check in, housekeeping and the lounge, but more than that was their concierge services! The concierge team lead by Michael made great recommendations to me and my wife throughout our stay on where to eat, shopping and even assisted to scheduled us where we should visit. This was very important to us, as we don’t quite speak the language fluently and their assistance made us feel at ease during the stay. Will definitely recommend to anyone visiting Xian and do ask their concierge for information and recommendations or assistance, hope will visit again soon!

Excellent customer care.

I debated between a 4- vs 5-star rating, and at the end am going with 5 because of Guest Relations Manager Angel Zhong and the Xianyan restaurant manager Alan Huang. These two individuals made all the difference. Even with simplest things, they made sure that we felt well taken care of - and we were! A few words about the hotel: Location: excellent. Walking distance to Big wild goose pagoda, Tang Paradise, Grand Tang Pedestrian Mall, Shaanxi History Museum, and a short taxi ride to Bell Tower and the ancient wall. Exterior design: Beautiful, the original reason why I chose this hotel. A garden/courtyard style, with a pond and three peacocks inhabiting the inner courtyard. Food: ate exclusively at the Xianyan buffet restaurant. Generally, very good food and service. Attempts at western food need improvement. For example, cold cuts and cheese plates were stale and sorry looking. However, the noodle station and all other Chinese foods were great. The dinner buffet also included individual hotpot, which had an excellent selection of tiger prawns, fish, near and vegetables. Deserts and pastries were largely excellent, with the exception of croissants that were too dry. For Christmas dinner buffet it was obvious that the kitchen made an extra effort: there was baked ham and Christmas cakes. Service: excellent. Again, I want to single out Angel Zhong from the Club Lounge and Alan Huang from Xianyan. Both worked tirelessly to make guests happy and we very much appreciated their efforts. Specifically to the management of the Club Lounge special kudos: given small number of users, the lounge was mostly closed. Instead, we have received access to the restaurant for snacks and drinks. Overall, a much better selection than what one would normally get in a club lounge. Things that need improvement: - room design: bathroom is completely open to the room (i.e. no privacy) and has no place to hang your towels. The only towel hook is actually inside the shower cabin, that is small enough to get everything wet. The bathroom in a suite is about half the size of the bathroom in the regular room. The lavabo is small and shallow, sending water splashes all over one's toiletries. Bottom line: bathroom design is a failure. - gym change room: same problem as the bathroom in the room, in that there was not a single towel hook in sight - housekeeping: needs to be better. Parts of the room (coffee table, couch) were actually unclean. Towels had strange hair (some short) in them. In my vast traveling/hotel experience it is almost always the housekeeping that fails. Still I'm giving this hotel 5 stars because the management is smart enough to have people like Angel and Alan make guests feel well taken care of. I hope the management does consider improvements to housekeeping and bathroom issues.

Magic weekend at the Hualuxe hotel in Xi’an
Opinión escrita el 9 de novembre de 2020
I stayed at the Tang Hua hotel with my family for a weekend in November 2020. To start with, the booking experience was just great; it was simple, cost effective and our specific needs were taken care of in a professional and friendly manner by Niki. Also, we exchanged our wechats and my subsequent questions were answered in a matter of minutes. After that, from the moment we arrived at the hotel, we were treated with so much care and attention. For example, as our room was not ready when we arrived, we were upgraded to a larger more comfortable one automatically with no discussion, thereby avoiding the endless arguments that usually happen in such circumstances. But I must say the best of all was the staff, who really went beyond their way to make us feel at home. Typically, the guest relationship manager, Angel, was always very thoughtful, checking on us discreetly and giving little presents to my daughters; the concierge, Michael, gave us precious advice on what to do in town, adapting our bookings to the unexpected changes to our schedule without having to tell him; and lastly, breakfast was a real treat, with many different buffets to choose from, and above all, staff who always made sure we had enough to eat! In all, I strongly recommend this hotel for anyone going to Xian alone, on a romantic trip or with family. It is simply a great experience.

An unique Experience

An renovated palace style hotel. Well furbished and ihg definitely brings some up to state service and food to this property. Very tranquil residing place. Will recommend definitely to those who want enjoy a traditional but well treated staycation at Xi'an. Hotel staff is well trained and a plus to this property. The Chinese cuisine in the hotel is quite authentic and I personally enjoyed a lot. Location-wise is very close to most tourist attraction places. Additionally, the city itself have an unique scent in its modern and classic.

Once a historical architecture legend, now a Chinese etiquette resurrection
Opinión escrita el 8 de octubre de 2020
I never anticipated I could experience a hotel that represents the most of Xi'an city before. There might be several existing hotels, from which you can feel the Chinese traditional characteristics through the OUTSIDE, but ONLY through the OUTSIDE. However, I changed my mind now. The HuaLuxe Xi'an Tanghua is the first one ever that you can truly sense the oriental culture in Xi'an, from BOTH the OUTSIDE and the INSIDE. A set of architectural Chinese-stylished exterior and interior design was never the most difficult part ... Yet, this hotel just did it, with full score, and even beyond my expectation. Once stepping into the lobby, I was fascinated at the ceramics at the lobby centre, as well as the Las Meninas of Tang Dynasty at the ceilings. Besides, there is a private garden inside this hotel, with a sparkling pond, a miniature waterfall, a traditional pavilion, and even several peacocks. Take a walk at this legendary and conventional secret garden, designed by the architectural master, Mr. Jinqiu Zhang, an academician of China Engineering Academy, you can even imagine what an upper-class lifestyle is like to be as a celebrity in ancient China. Well, how to show Chinese traditional virtues and hospitality, or CHINESE ETIQUETTE as a host, is truly the key part, and also the most difficult part. Unprecedentedly, the HuaLuxe brand, a branch of the Intercontinental Hotel Group, born in China, and now represents the most of China. And I think the HuaLuxe Xi'an Tanghua is just the right case in point. Before the day of arrival, I was contacted by phone by Bennett Li, a Guest Relation Officer (GRO). He showed warm welcome to me, and asked me my intention for this hotel stay, as well as my expected arrival time. Then he said as a valued IHG Platinum Elite member, I would have a room upgrade, plus, I would be granted access to the Executive lounge. Then on the arrival day, luckily I met Bennett at the front desk. And he briefed with me about the hotel history, as well as some place of interest nearby, with full patience and modesty. Then when I tried to visit the Executive Lounge of this hotel, my IHG Platinum membership was immediately recognized. And soon, within 5 minutes, Angel Zhong, who is another GRO, came to me, with some local featured pastries. And then she served me with osmanthus tea in the Chinese way, with conventional tea sets. The tea tastes sweet, which is my favorite kind. I suppose a cup of Chinese tea could be far better than a cup of coffee when you are visiting China as a foreigner guest. I was never ever treated in that way in a five star hotel, until that day, I must say. In short, the HuaLuxe Xi'an Tanghua impressed me a lot. And now I will definitely recommend it to my friends who plan to visit Xi'an. It is not just because the superb location (only 5 mins walk can take you the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda), the fantastic featured architecture design, or the peaceful, dedicated garden, but also because the truly traditional, featured, and Chinese-style hotel service. Generally speaking, in China, tea is the key inner spirit to show hospitality as a host. Everybody knows that. However few hotels can really do that in a professional way. So I think it can be a key differentiator, when compared with other hotel competitors from Xi'an. Thank you HuaLuxe! Thank you Tanghua Xi'an! ---------- Jiawei Wang,IHG Spire Elite Member, Ambassador
