Best hotel in Zermatt.. and probably in Alps

Reviewed 8 november, 2021

Probably the best hotel I ever stayed. Whole resort, room, restaurant (only one was open during our stay), spa, reception area is absolutely great, beautiful and designed with great attention to detail. There are little details everywhere creating perfect environment. Room view was perfect (but I would not like to stay in Lodges V-VI), bed and beddings - I wish to have same at home. Even the spa bathrobes and slippers are not ordinary "hotel white" but Cervo special, comfortable, soft and beautiful. Breakfast are different comparing to ordinary hotels, attention to great presentation and focus on Nepalese/Tibet/Indian food, as the whole Bazaar restaurant. Little strange in the Swiss atmosphere, but why not. The (only one opened that time) restaurant has only choices of Asian food (or burger) so bit limited for our taste but nice to try. Also prices are similar to village' establishments (but portions minimalistic). Staff is (mostly) nice but there are little communication issues. They should not assume "we know" the resort. First we didn´t know there is a lift from the middle of the village up to the resort´s door. When we arrived, walking uphill, with our 2 big luggage + backpacks, they just asked if we didn´t find the lift. What lift??? Okay, maybe we should did more research ourselves. Then they sent us (with our 2 big luggage) outside the reception and around by outdoor path to the Lodge 1. Later we discovered there is a lift straight from the reception to nearly Lodge 1 door! Then we booked to the spa and again, no one told us there is a series of lifts and tunnel directly to the spa building! So we went in our bathrobes, in snowing and freezing and with our little son outdoor to the spa which is like 2 minutes outdoor, or almost completely indoor way (except app. 5 meters from Lodge 1 to the lift). I would advise to either have a simple map of connections, lifts and paths for the guests at check-in, or receptionist to explain each time. Not to wait until I ask, because I have had no idea there are lifts and tunnels, I believe there is also no reference whatsoever on their web. Allover - great stay and we will return again for sure and will recommend anyone.

Wonderful stay in Zermatt.

The best place in Zermatt. I have stayed at some of the best hotels in the world and this hotel is one of the nicest. Location is incredible with a quick lift to center of town. It is quiet and relaxing, away from the touristy section of Zermatt. Our view was incredible, even though, we were not able to see the Matterhorn because of the clouds. The food at the bizarre restaurant was all organic and fantastic. Service was superb. Go there and you will not be disappointed.

World Class Service

Reviewed 30 october, 2021

Probably the best hotel we've ever stayed in. The location was amazing. We particularly enjoyed the views from the room, breakfast, the spa and the bar. What stood out more than anything however was the service. Everyone went above and beyond, particularly John and Karolis, who couldn't have been more welcoming or accommodating.

Poor experience

We booked 4 rooms for december 2021. A month after confirming, they told us they had double booked my room, the nicest, so My husband and i would need to move on Christmas Eve, so their other guest could have my room. They were barely apolgetic and made no gracious overture at all. Awful service, it left us feeled treated poorly before even arriving. We cancelled and moved our business elsewhere. Shame on them.

Karolis provided the best service in Zermatt.

Beautiful views of mountains. Excellent service provided by Karolis - he treated us royalty all the time. Nice Prosecco, Manadarin lemonade, nibbles…. an unforgettable afternoon. Also our dog Geena got something extra - chicken supreme. Thsnk you all at Cervo!
